Alcine Vs Rose

Post by Wales »

Anyone think Alcine has a chance, or has he fallen too far over the hill and will Brian easily outbox him? Got a feeling its closer than the bookies are suggesting, but i do fancy Rose to do the job over the distance.

Depends what version of Alcine turns up. If it's the same guy that outboxed Lemieux 18 months ago, it will be a long night for Rose. If it's the guy that struggled to a draw against a Mexican journeyman before that then Rose has a chance. Either way, Brian will have to be on top form to have any chance of beating the vastly experienced Canadian. Even though he is 37, he boxes younger than his years if that makes sense.

Some bookies are offering 3/1 on Alcine which is great value in my opinion.

11/4 on sky bet right now. Seemed long to me. Dont think the macklin performance dim him justice, although he is way past his best. Guess its down to ambition, at 37 is he punching for pay, or after one last shot.

Both fighters have a bit to prove and it could be who wants it most or who has the motivation. I don't blame anyone for taking 3s on Alcine as its an "up in the air" with too many factors to make an educated punt although if I had to pick one I'd say Rose on points.

Put a small punt on Alcine KO/TKO at 11/2. Not sold on Rose yet.

if alcine doesnt care aboutthe fight then he'll get kod.
if he cares its an easy win for him.
just a mental thing with him. thats why am trying to get any inside scoop as to if hes training at all . etc
as he was motivated for lemiuex looked awesome and for macklin he didnt even seem interested.

You never know what your gonna get with Alcine - He was a solid fighter and had a decent career but maybe father time has taken over and due to getting stopped in his last 3 defeats maybe Rose can get the job done towards the latter rounds.

Rose does not have the power to blast Alcine away like Macklin did :shame: I'm looking toward Rose winning on a points decision to be honest.

I recon rose will do it, gonna be a hard night as he doesnt have the punch to take alcine out and will have to box at top form to get past alcine, i'll say rose by 2 rounds

I boxed Brian as a pro and I thought he was the most accurate punching pro I boxed, well schooled fighter and a lot stronger than record suggests.

rose remins me of burns.
easy to underestimate.
he has good fundamentals and the determining factor here is he wants it more than alcine so rose will win.

I was toying with the idea that Joachim Alcine was gonna stop Brian Rose but nah Rose on points for me,its another big step up for Brian, bigger than Vivian Harris but i think Rose will raise his game,he,s had a few tough defences of his British title which will stand him in good stead for tonight, someone above commented that Rose reminds them a little bit of Ricky Burns,i could understand that, the better the opponent, the better the performance.C,mon Brian :box:
Also cant wait to see Lee Selby in action again in a defence of his Commonwealth Featherweight strap,i dont anything about his opponent Corey McConnell other than the fact he,s Austrailian, unbeaten and apparently loves a tear up

i couldnt never see it as a tough fight for brian, his punch resistance had gone down alot in recent years and his best days were at light welter

im looking forward to the selby fight also

Altough Alcine was blitzed by Matthew Macklin,he was coming of a good win over David Lemiaux,so obviously still has something left in the tank,or at least he did before the Macklin bout
