we used 8-oz gloves. Then they brought in head gear and 10-oz gloves. In my opinion,
the no head gear made it easier to see punches and slip punches, and the 8-oz gloves were
great to use. I understand the reasons they brought in head gear - SAFETY ISSUES.
There is some concern about potential cuts, well a potential cut is no different that a broken nose from a well-timed hard fast jab to the nose. So, if cuts happen, they happen, and if the corner crew and trainers can't fix it by the time a new bout starts then that becomes one of those tough luck
issues, and does not deserve a lot of crying about possibilities that may or may not happen or man or may not get fixed in time.
