Re: Kell Brook injured again
I'm sure there'll be a novice Argentine they can big up on Ringside for the comeback of the Century.
Me thinks Brook is holding off to fight Khan given the money they could make holding it in the UK, as opposed to going to the US, fighting a tougher fight for the fraction of the purse.
Injuries eh?!

Re: Kell Brook injured again
In my opinion Kell Brook doesn't want it. allegedly states he offered him 2 world title fights which Brook turned down. I said from the very start, when this fight was announced, it would not happen. My opinion, of course, will change if and when the fight ever happens.

Re: Kell Brook injured again
Sounds like the doc left it up to him if he wanted to fight or not as the injury alone would not be a reason to medically pull out of the fight. He could grit his teeth and gutted it out or simply pull out. He choose the latter. Dissapointed he may not get another chance for another year. And im sure goldenboy and alexander will want nothing to do with him after this....hes a liability and not exactually a big name.
Re: Kell Brook injured again
Im not saying Kells a come forward fighter or a big puncher though he has been both in previous fights i was asked my opinion on what he would need to do against Alexander. If im honest mate im a bit gutted at the min cant be doing with keep defending my opinion and thats all it is .He has worked his bollocks off and had a shit run off luck. You not a fan thats fine you thinks his overhyped thats fine too .Saldivia never wanted to be there mate .columbo wrote:It had nothing to do with Saldivia not wanting to be there, the guys chinnys! Thats what happened in that fight. As for Brook hurting alexander over and over again and bullying him, first off, when has brook been a come forward bullying type of fighter? He's always been a clever counter puncher with good reflexes. Secondly Alexander has always shown a very good chin despite other flaws he has. Matthysse is a serious puncher *hits harder than Brook in my opinion* and aside from dropping Devon once in the fight, he took the best of what Matthysse had to offer! He also dealt with Maidana with very few problems. People are making Brook out to be some monstrous puncher when he isnt! Yes he can punch but he's not a truely big puncher!TJ77 wrote:He coasted up untill that fight trained like he had for all the others.Tomasino wrote:TJ, why was Brook so poor in the Carson Jones fight? 6 rounds in and your nose gets broke and the guy in front of you is turning on the pressure is a tough time to find out.Your not gods gift to boxing and need to prepare much better if your gonna have the lungs and legs to get past dedicated athletes.Kell did amazing to get through that fight if Jones had been a bit better fighter things could have been very different.Thankfully he held him off had done just enough in the first 6 was at home in a title eliminator all of which got him the win.
He showed mental strengh that night and his diet and training and lifestyle have had a massive overhaul.
If Saldivia had shown up Kell could have really shown how those changes had affected his perfomance he blasted Hector who never wanted to be there.
Devon Alexander is an experienced champion but likes to spoil and run his head can go if he doesnt get his own way.
Kell will hurt him and chase him down and hurt him again and again dont let him hold bullying him on the move as well as on the inside. It will not be easy as Alexander is good at making people look bad fitness and movement are massive in this fight.Alexander will get on his bike and Kell will need to be able t chase him so if he's foots hurt he will need to postpone i really hope its a scare and Monday will tell mate fingers crossed but given the history with this bout.

Re: Kell Brook injured again
I'm sure Carl Froch once said that no fighter gets in the ring 100% injury free and that he's always injured going into fights.
Re: Kell Brook injured again
So if he got a stress fracture now or next week or so 5 weeks away from kessler meaning no sparring.or road work he would just carry on? Not many would IMOAndypittcov wrote:I'm sure Carl Froch once said that no fighter gets in the ring 100% injury free and that he's always injured going into fights.

No to be fair I think Kell is a good fighter. He has good boxing skills. Im just not sure if he could fight Alexander in that way as its not his natural style you know. I do think Kell is a talented fighter but he has yet to be in the ring with one of the top dogs to be certain that he is an elite fighter.

Re: Kell Brook injured again
I expect better from you me old County Durham pal. Ticket sales aren't very important to a TV fight in the States - nowt to do with it. As far as I know, he'd been training hard and it's unfortunate for all concerned.Hagler2002 wrote:"Brook fight off due to injury" thinly veiled "Ticket sales were utter shite yet again"
He could do bits of fitness but not run and not really box in preparation. Hardly ideal, so that's that.

Agreed and I hope he still gets his chance and as soon as he is fit again.

I don't know about there being 2 world title fights, but i know one was K-9 Cornelius Bundrage at 154lb - at a time when Kell was fighting Africans on a York Hall undercard.
Hardly any good to him that.

I don't see how anyone can come to that conclusion honestly I don't .
Its Devon Alexander not an early version of Tyson .
I should imagine Kell honestly believes he would hammer him.
Fwank is full of sh.t using his testimony to bolster any argument is lunacy.
He left Kell to stagnate marking time while he concentrated on others all of which have fucked off and left him. He is a bitter old man who spouts self serving rubbish when it suits.
I wish we all had your insight we could have saved ourselves a few quid by not booking.
Kell has hurt his foot it requires treatment he can't train or fight.

Well going by reports Brook is no longer the mandatory for the IBF title , Kevin Bizier has replaced him.
He recently beat Nate Campbell for the IBF Inter-Continental title.

This injury will surely mean another fight for Kell before a world title shot.
I'd back him to beat Bizier handily enough as well.
I think we all just want to see him back in the ring as soon as.

Alexander doesn't have to fight mandatory after mandatory... So this fight is not going to happen
Hearn needs put his hand in his pocket and buy him a title like warren does

Re: Kell Brook injured again
Make Brook vs vasell, perfect fight to keep him busy before title shot. Should be an easy fight to make and it would definetely be a test. Probably the toughest fighter brooker (and vassell) have faced. Rather see this fight that another keep busy jackiewicz/ndou type fight. Heck would even love to see Gavin step up to the plate....that could potentially fast forward his career 2-3 years by beating brook.
Re: Kell Brook injured again
Wouldn't imagine he is likely to want to go that route I doubt either could cope with Kell .rio wrote:Make Brook vs vasell, perfect fight to keep him busy before title shot. Re: Kell Brook injured again
Personally if he is still ranked high enough which he is saying on twitter I would like to see the rematch with Carson Jones.
He then could answer any doubters questions when he is 100% on the night and the diet is right.
Then if he is mandatory go in to try and face Devon Alexander if he hasn't moved on to a bigger name in the US

We don't really know yet.
