My boxing aphorisms and maxims

Post by Ezzard »

Feel free to disagree but dont necessarily expect a response.

Please don't put one or two examples forward to counter any of them.

1 – Moving up a weight class to fight someone naturally bigger (they started in a higher weight class) puts you at a serious disadvantage.

2 – Moving up and fighting someone established at the higher weight class, but who didn’t start their career there, is still a major disadvantage but not as much.

3 – When moving up fighters who rely on aggression and/or power are at a bigger disadvantage than those who rely on speed and defence.

4 – Fighters will look to fight in the lowest weight class they possibly can.

5 – Fighters only voluntarily move up a weight class for the money.

6 – Losing to a fighter is better than not fighting them at all.

I agree with #4 and you couldn't say anything I agree with more than #6. :TU:

The rest are too case by case for me.
