The forearm did appear to set it up. Awkward angle, possibly why it had such effect.

yeah it sounded like bullshit to me too, with a KD and a point off against him. Not so classy dancing about while the guy was laid out. Decent strength and much better stamina than I've ever seen from Fury.
Fury predicted a "3 hit fight" He hits Cunningham, Cunningham hits the floor and Fury hits New York. Well I make it a 4 hit fight seeing as Tyson went down like a tree.

He was magnanimous in victory though.

Fury's actual boxing involved marching forwards and trying to hold and lean on Cunningham. That's what I saw.

Think that's a bit harsh; it wasn't only that. He was throwing plenty of punches too. Pretty aggressive style and very entertaining. He needs to tighten up his defence though to progress.

Quick mention for his young cousin Hughie who looked very slick.

Glad the Yanks didn't boo him and kill it for him. I didn't think he were a bad singer in fairness. Sometimes comes across as a bit of an arrogant dick/ bully does Tyson so it's nice when you see him being magnanimous and respectful about people. He's not an idiot. He also did well to relax and take a second to compose himself when he got floored. When boxers go down in that manner you never know if they're going to get up and he composed himself.
I think on experience gained he's now considerably in front of David Price, who at 1 point I believe would have - and maybe still might - take him out...

A massive young man of mediocre skills has beaten a once-excellent, smaller-but-still-big man of advancing years. Meanwhile, the most momentous blow of the night landed off-screen on Woodhall.

Fury does land hurtful, whipping body shots, and has a decent/great jab when he bothers to employ it. I say decent/great because I'm unsure about the inherent quality of his jab versus its long reach. Doesn't matter; it's a good 'un either way.

But my praise kinda slows after that. I don't think Fury does have the level of heart others attest to. He's incredibly resilient to punishment physically, and he has a good chin, but heart to me is fighting a losing fight. Fury's chest-beating began when he sensed that Cunningham was beginning to fade.

Heart is bravery, as shown by few, if any, more heroically than Joe Frazier. Heart isn't getting back up in anger to save face, recovering your senses through the fortune of born-with physical strength, and then turning it on when the tide shows favour. That's toughness, but it's not heart when in absence of apparent futility; it's not bravery unless the outcome is feared. And it may backfire, because - to give him his due - he's nothing if not tough. Unlike Floyd Patterson, who was saved from himself by his chin, I can imagine Fury having a career-ending fight in similar fashion to Jess Willard. Albeit Jess was ageing at that point.

Lots of respect to Cunningham for not complaining about the illegal elbow. The curtain call was coming regardless, so he was correct and refreshingly honest to admit as much.

Amid the adrenaline of a fight, I don't blame Fury for putting the elbow in, but I do feel he should've acknowledged it in the post-fight calm as a less than ideal conclusion. Didn't need an apology, simply an admission that it wasn't the sharpest end (or beginning or middle!) to a fight that you'd hope for on a US debut.

Has Al Bernstein left Channel 5, by the way? I haven't watched any boxing for a while.
