Why aren't fights collected & remastered?

Post by wvboxer »

I collect old tv shows & it's so nice to see an older show properly remastered & on DVD or blu ray. I recently bought a set of Ali fights & while it wasn't bad, the quality could have been better. I understand the difficulties of exact rights to various fights but is this something that companies are even considering? I'd love too see boxing history better preserved for everyone to enjoy! Just a thought.

These sorts of things are driven by revenue and there isnt a lot of revenue to be had from such an project, particularly since the bootleg market is so prevalent as far as boxing films go.

It's just frustrating. I can watch fights on YouTube but would love to have good hard copies. More importantly the fights should be preserved. It always bothers me to see tv shows or movies that have had virtually no care.
