Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?

Post by lefty »

I rewatched the fight and I have to say that whilst Tyson wasnt producing a whole lot of skill in there, when he was walking forward with his hand held tight to his head walking Cunningham down he'd be a hard fight for anyone! Im not sure if Wladimir would be able to cope with someone pushing him back like that! Im curious to what you gents think?

 .... well I was thinking more along the lines of if Fury was just mauling him and pushing him back Wlad wouldnt be able to get off with his shots like he likes to do and also whilst he's got good footwork for a guy of his size he's not as quick on his feet as cunningham is who's a natually smaller guy. Im just curious to how Wlad would react to being pushed up and someone leaning on him which he likes to do to his opponents.

I imagine Wlad would deal with it by repeatedly punching Tyson in the face.

no chance. he'll be right in the shit when he faces a technically sound fighter the same size as him. Im a fury fan, think hes really entertaining but he just wont learn from his mistakes. All that hands down rubbish and talking to fighters.... If he had a brain he'd have so much more potential but he insists on doing it his way to his eventual detriment.

Stylistically I think Haye would be a tougher fight than Wladimir, purely because Haye is very quick on his feet and he also possesses a ton of power to top it off. I think Tyson would find it very hard to pin him down and would eat big shots in the process whereas Wlad can definietly punch and is technically very good but he doesnt possess as much speed of foot and thats why I think Fury could give him some problems.

I don't give Fury a hope in hell. He's far too crude to pose any problems to Wlad, he'd be sent him with his tail between his legs the minute Wlad felt like throwing the straight.

Wlad didn't hit Haye with full blooded shots, he was too busy rolling around the floor, and tbf, made himself a trick small target.

Fury is a big, open, wild target. Surely you don't think Fury could hold up to the kind of punishment Wach or Tiger Tony took?

He was a big open target when he got floored, then he got his hands up, I can't see him being stupid enough to put it on wlad with his hands at his waist and his chin in the air.
I thought wlad hit Haye with a serious shot, Haye was moving back but it still landed fairly heavy.

I think you'll find Wlad DID hit Haye with his best shots...

There was 1 in the mid rounds with Haye on the ropes, Haye had a low centre of grav at the time and was riding with the punch, but he took it well. Take a look at the first KD in Thomspon 2, there's no way Wlad hit Haye with a shot as hard, or as flush as that. Smith was commentating for BN for that fight and was sickened by the noise of the impact on that punch.

Fury may be more disciplined vs WK than he was vs SC but Wlad would find a way through him and when he starts landing, Fury will undoubtely open up and get frantic.

Not that repeatedly, the first full-on right hand Wladimir catches Fury with will end the fight.

Wlads footwork is very, very good.

I can't see Fury physically pushing Wlad about. Its one thing wearing down the tiny ( by comparison ) Cunningham but trying to impose yourself on somebody stronger and with a lot more experience and who possesses enough power to switch you off with one shot is something completely different!

If they fight I have no doubt Tyson takes it to Wlad and goes out on his shield though. Would make Wlad come out his shell. Wlad by devastating KO.

Fury is almost ready for a shot though. For his sake I hope he fights a bigger chap next, in prep for the big one. Pulev, Helenius, maybe even Dimitrenko?

wow i'm an american and i will be the only one
defending fury

vitali is 41 he will be 42 in july ---he has not looked good
lately, but how many heavyweights look good at that age?

wladimir just turned 37...how much longer can he go on?

fury is 24 years old...a baby by todays boxing standards

lets say he can hold off on fighting wlad until late 2014
early 2015
works a lil' more on defense

i would give him a shot...a very good shot

That's an option for sure. Wait until Wlad is gone. Fury beating Woad depends on getting to. Faded version because he isn't good enough as it stands, not by a long way. As much as I like Tyson.

Personally I would love to see Fury v Vitali. Vitali is there for the taking and it would be nice to see someone actually take the fight to Vitali for the first time since Sanders!

Wlad would make an easy night of it right now. People saying Wlad is not used to people his size are forgetting that neither is Fury. Wlad is in shape for more than 5 rounds, keeps his hands up, and knows how to box. He wins as he pleases against Fury, and that would probably be by way of a boring, safety first points win. The Pulev fight will be interesting ; I can't see how he can win it unless it's with more leaning, but Pulev showed against Dimitrenko that he can handle himself against a bigger man. I see Pulev smashing him up badly in the later in the fight. I would be interested to see Fury against Dimitrenko, as a test of how he handles a big lad. My money is in Pulev to batter Fury, and then give Wlad a very tough night, and perhaps beat him.

i think he takes vitali now.

again waiting to take on wlad is his best chance
the longer the better

No chance !!!!!!!!!!!

He'd have no size advantage and Wlad is leagues above anyone he has faced.

I'd fancy Vitali to beat him now tbh Fury has always been open to the right hand. If either Klitschko lands like Cunningham did he won't be getting up. I think Haye would stop him in 4 rounds TBH.

Fury said last night an eliminator for the IBF no 2 spot ( when I first heard that I thought WTF) but anyway this means he should fight Pulev to determine a mandatory for Wlad. From what I've seen of Pulev I'd fancy him to take Fury though I have a feeling that fight won't happen. Time will tell with that I guess.

No he could not beat Wladimir Klitschko. It would be a surprise in my eyes if Fury made the whole twelve rounds.
