Oh I wasnt saying Wladimir doesnt have very good footwork. I was just saying that he's not as light on his feet as Cunningham is which is understandable as he's a lot bigger. Thats what I was getting at with that.lillywhite14 wrote:Wlads footwork is very, very good.columbo wrote:Stylistically I think Haye would be a tougher fight than Wladimir, purely because Haye is very quick on his feet and he also possesses a ton of power to top it off. I can't see Fury physically pushing Wlad about. Its one thing wearing down the tiny ( by comparison ) Cunningham but trying to impose yourself on somebody stronger and with a lot more experience and who possesses enough power to switch you off with one shot is something completely different!
If they fight I have no doubt Tyson takes it to Wlad and goes out on his shield though. Would make Wlad come out his shell. Wlad by devastating KO.
Fury is almost ready for a shot though. For his sake I hope he fights a bigger chap next, in prep for the big one. Pulev, Helenius, maybe even Dimitrenko?

Im not sure if Wladimir would be able to cope with someone pushing him back like that! Im curious to what you gents think?
You should have made this a poll.
No chance. Fury is wide open. End of story.

Re: Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?
I understand your point but the one thing the Klitschkos have got which Tyson will never have is a natural talent to box rather than brawl. Tyson is great at using the natural attributes he has, his size, reach and weight and those worked a treat against a fella who struggled to make Cruiser letalone HW! He wouldn't bully Wlad and Vitali, they would establish their jab from the off and keep Tyson on the end of it so we wouldn't see him marauding around the ring like he did against Steve Cunningham. His conditioning is much improving and I think his intention is to fight Wlad as he gets older but I can't ever see him tearing the titles from either of them. He will more than likely be a champ one day, but not at the expense of the K brothers.MEISINGER wrote:wow i'm an american and i will be the only one
defending fury
vitali is 41 he will be 42 in july ---he has not looked good
lately, but how many heavyweights look good at that age?
wladimir just turned 37...how much longer can he go on?
fury is 24 years old...a baby by todays boxing standards
lets say he can hold off on fighting wlad until late 2014
early 2015
works a lil' more on defense
i would give him a shot...a very good shot

I don't think so, but I would love to see him try

Im just curious to how Wlad would react to being pushed up and someone leaning on him which he likes to do to his opponents.

Wlad would cut Fury to ribbons.
Fury is just too open.
He was also put onto his backside by a man who only stopped 50% of his opponents when he was fighting as a cruiserweight.
I too like Tyson as an "entertainer"
But this would be a long, bloody, painful night for Fury, with a stoppage before the 8th.
Why do you assume Fury would be the one going forward after the first round or two? :??

Re: Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?
Fury could beat him in 2/3 years but not just now - he's still learning though and winning!
Re: Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?
No Wladimir would knock him out in 5 or 6 one sided rounds. That being said though, I'd rather see Fury get the shot than just about any other Heavyweight as at least he'd go for it.
Re: Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?
He's got Pulev to worry about first who is no cake walk.
Re: Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?
Odlanier Solis would be a good test , whilst an outstanding amateur he's been appalling as a professional.
Re: Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?
Still don't see how Haye is a harder styles match up than Wlad. At least Fury has size on Haye, not sure what he has on Wlad.columbo wrote:Oh I wasnt saying Wladimir doesnt have very good footwork. Re: Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?
The question is 'could' Fury beat Wlad? The answer is yes, he could.
Will he, right now? No.
Can he in the future? Yes, 100%.
That said, Wlad will be losing his crown later in the year when Povetkin puts him to sleep, so maybe Fury will beat him after that.

Re: Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?
Well first things first Tyson Fury has got to get past Kubrat Pulev in their IBF final eliminator while Wladimir K has to dispatch first Francesco Pianeta (which I think he will) and then dispatch Alexander Povetkin next (if that fight is going to happen) before we can start entertaining any thoughts about this match up. I must admit it is actually quite a tough pick when you sit down and pick the bones out of it. Fury has youth and size in his favour, but Wladimir has (obviously) the greater 12 round experience and the superior boxing ability of the two and ring intelligence. Fury can dig tothe body which could give Wladimir something to think about protecting the chin that has seen him get dropped 11 times in his career.
But Fury has been dropped TWICE against his career against lighter punchers in comparison to Wladimir K in the shape of Neven Pajikic who was 16-0 with 5 knockouts and more recently against Steve Cunningham a former Cruiserweight. Wladimir has been dropped by guys like Corrie Sanders who was quick handed and could hit like a mule. Samuel Peter three times when Peter was taking guys out all over the place in the early to mid 2000s and many people thought Wladimir K was commiting career suicide when he went in Peter in that title eliminator back in 2006 but somehow Wladimir dug it out so you can argue perhaps Fury's chin is the more suspect than Wladimir's when you take into the calibre of opposition that and the power that they have.
If I was going to have to pick a winner I would go for Wladimir K due his superior power which I think will drop Fury at least once during the fight but Fury's balls and sheer determination will see him stagger Wladimir K in parts, but Wladmir's superior ring experience and craft will shine through in the later stage as he breaks down and stops a game and very valiant Fury.

Re: Could Fury beat Wladimir Klitschko?
Kilt is far too technically superior and is too tight defensively, Fury doesn't have the one punch power. The only chance he has if Vlad grows old overnight.

The only thing Fury could beat Wlad at is a game of tiddly winks and then I'd have Wlad a 1/4 favourite.

Tyson would go at him I think. It's his only chance. By attacking him he would leave openings. Wlad carries enough to end proceedings with one punch.
