Step up from his last 2 but still uninspiring, as for Bellew-Chilemba, Chilemba is better than Bellew imo and I don't believe it's a 50-50 fight :)

What a shit fight! People make out that Hearn is good for boxing, etc but he's putting on a lot of crap fights! Hearn was saying it was going to be a really big fight to back up Froch vs Kessler. The guy is full of shit! This opponent is a guy that Adonis stevenson knocked out in a few rounds and never really broke sweat doing it! This is a truely shit fight.

Its a fight thats going on PPV though so they cant really use that excuse because they'll clearly make that money back.

...this is what, Groves' 3rd fight in 12 weeks?
...how many did he have with Fisheyes?

I don't mind a bit of crap of you're active (see the topic about world champions taking part in non title bouts) if you're inactive however you can't have "gimmes"

active against pushovers though! Its not like he's been fighting tough opposition in his last couple of fights. Who really wants to watch him beat up some stiff?!

Knocking over stiffs is better than sitting there twiddling your thumbs. Keeps him sharp and unless he suffers a cut he'll be prepared for a world title fight when the WBO window opens up. Nothing THAT bad with Noe Gonzalez who isn't a push over per se (though Stevenson did rip him a new one).

I'm frustrated that it's not a bout with Stieglitz but Robert fought only a few weeks ago so that was never likely to happen, the WBC title is up for grabs in a few weeks and Groves v the winner of that would be viable as well.

Cmon Gonzales is a pushover! Who has he ever beaten? He lost to Sturm at middleweight aswell and whilst Sturm is a decent fighter I still dont think he's that special when you compare him to other middleweights out there. Gonzales has just taken the rankings route of beating mediocre opposition to get a high ranking in one of the governing bodies. Can you name one good fighter or even semi decent fighter he's beaten because I cant! This is a let down because Hearn was saying this fight was going to be a big one as a co-main event to froch vs kessler and its nothing but a let down. There was a bunch of better opponents out there they could of made a fight with.

I'd say that Mariano Natalio Carrera was "half decent" (at least when he was given Clembuterol )

it was a 12 round UD loss for the wba title vs sturm, which means he has already fought better opposition
than groves has. he got stopped by stevenson but groves hasn't fought anybody that level, either. those
are his only 2 losses with 22 of his 30 wins by stoppage. who are all these guys he's knocking out?
you must be under the impression that groves is dominating world class opposition. for an undercard
fight this is hardly anything to complain about.

whether he's from argentina or uruguay, how much of a difference does it make when you can literally
see where he was born from where he lives with a good pair of binoculars and has fought just as often in both
places? i can't tell you how many times i have heard euros over the years asking "why is he fighting some
bum from argentina?" only to be crying later when their hero is crumpled on the canvas, zamzam being
the latest example. i would favor groves over this guy but i wouldn't take him lightly at all, and for an
undercard groves vs alcoba adds a lot to the event. i thought kaddour v ochieng was called off 2 days
after it was scheduled but boxrec still has it listed. i would say chilemba will get an earlier start vs bellew
this time out and bellew will have no excuses after feeling like he could have done more last time, so
it could be a better fight.

Its not just supposed to be an undercard fight though, its supposed to be a co-main event! Regarding his nationality, it has nothing to do with what country he's from but rather how good of a fighter he is and going on his fight with Stevenson, he's not that great! Don george gave Stevenson a tougher fight than Gonzales did and this is the same Don George who was knocked out Jesus Gonzales who George Groves happened to knock out in pretty devastating fashion! Finally would you say that Sturm is a better fighter and has beaten better opposition throughout his career than Glen Johnson has?

so there are 3 co-main events on this card out of the only 3 bouts scheduled so far?
how many people are really signing up to watch this thing for george groves' opponent?
we can only compare who groves and alcoba fought when they fought them.
glen johnson is a good name on grove's record. he still fights top level opponents
but 6 of his last 10 are losses, with 18 losses total.
i really can't wander down into the weeds with you as far as A did something to B
and B did something to C, therefore A compared to C...
this is the kessler froch card. groves is fighting a worthy opponent on the undercard.
there are only so many big names out there that would fight for $___ that weekend
so they found a worthy opponent. nothing to complain about
