To the best I remember Andries was winning this fight, and just had to last the final bell.Harding kept eating bombs, and throwing his silly looking, little arm punches. His face swollen, and eyes blinded,he keeps up the pace and rallies to K.O. the champion in the last round. It was a dramatic ending, because it looked like Andries had mugged Harding thruout the whole fight, when suddenly it's over. They fought a couple times after this, but this was the best of the series.

Dennis Andries vs Jeff Harding (Light-heavyweight,1st fight)
A great triology these two had.... Andries never got his due i think, 3 times world champion! takes some doing... and this is a guy who didn't turn pro till he was about 28. He was thought by some to be almost 40 by the time of the first Harding fight. Great wars. I thought Andries should have got the decision in the 3rd bout.
Harding v Andries 1 was an amazing fight, I had Andries out in front by alot more than the three judges did after 11 rounds. I had it 107-102 Andries, and for most of the fight he had given Harding a beating, then in the last seconds of the 11th round, Harding wobbled Andries, and when the round ended, Harding's corner was yelling at him "You got him, this it, last round, you gotta finish him". Harding was all over Andries in the last round, and I think the referee stopped the bout just as Andries went down for the 3rd time.
In the rematch in Melbourne, I was sure Harding would win again, but the bout followed the pattern of the first fight, and when Harding was decked in the 7th he didn't even appear to be hurt when he missed the count. Also remember a pre fight interview that afternoon where Harding said he was a big fan of Bob Dylan. Never saw the 3rd fight.

The 3rd fight was a great one to, not much in silky skills on show, but for sheer guts and determination by both fighters.
It basically was first one fighter getting the better of the exchanges then the other, I though that Andres deserved the win, but can see how it went the other way. Alot of the rounds were very close , and could have gone either way.
