The greatest boxing writer of the day?

He's very much in the old school style ( Liebling, Red Smith, Cannon ) and an obvious influence on Mike Katz.

This guy is the real McCoy.

He's been around forever, and his writing is world class, and puts you right there.
Check his articles here, print them out for the train ride home. The recent "Willie Pastrano and the Witch" is terrific

Putnam is amazing. You write stuff and you think, yes I'm proud of that, thats pretty good and then you read Pat's stuff and you just throw the laptop across the room.

He's on an entire different level to virtually everyone else.
