Please share with us ([email protected]) any publicity or other photos of him, his place and date of birth, height, orthodox or southpaw, manager and trainer name, bio/whatever became of him, and newspaper clippings of his fights. Anything is welcome, if you have it.

Great stuff!
Those were the days when guys like your Dad fought all those 4,6,and 8 rounders coming up. They were learning the craft the right way.
Also fighting in those smaller clubs that used to be all over New York like The ridge wood grove arena etc.
Days of yore for the fight game no question.

Thanks for all the information. Did your father start out under someone else's licence or is there another reason that he fought as Bruno Lijoi? I also changed your father's surname to Sciuti, as I presumed Sciuit was a typo.

SCIUTI is the right spelling thank you for all you did .

He stared boxing at 16 so he took a birth certifiable for one of the kids he new that was 18 "Bruno Lijoi" that is why he was boxing with that name.

Now this remains a sure fire method to retain discipline on the home front. However it appears society prefers families with "two moms" these days.

Ok....I'm kidding....kinda....sorta.....and not completely. Know what I mean? I mean, a nearly grown son raises a fist to his father......to me this is clearly a "teachable moment" as the politically correct like to call it. Your father acted sensibly IMHO...(as long as that is the gist of the story and it goes no darker with further context).

Don't point a gun unless you intend to engage.....same goes with a raised fist IMHO.

I strongly feel the young fella should have reported him to the authorities for child abuse, assault and battery, and probably a host of other things rather than accepting that he copped what he perhaps deserved. p.s my name is Tarquin and I am a dickhead
