Brian Rose vs Joachim Alchine

Post by dirketo »

How did you see that fight on the scorecards? I had it for Joachim Alcine very clearly, but after watching Jim Watt's scorecard I doubt it. Alcine was the busiest one and who threw and landed much more punches. Your thoughts?

I had Alcine up by one going into the last. I was watching in a room full of people who had no interest in it so I may be a little off. I need to watch it again. I have read on here since that the judges had Rose up by 4 rounds which seems too wide to me. It was definitely a lot closer than that. Rubbish stoppage aswell I thought.

I was there & thought it was quite close, but we were a distance off the ring. Then to read that the judges had it 3 & 4 rounds to Brian seemed a bit off.

Rose is a decent pro but is far from someone to get excited about.

I hope he keeps winning cos I wouldn't mind watching some big boxing events at the winter gardens next year.

I had Rose slightly ahead but the stoppage was very premature. Having watched it again in the final flurry only one punch landed and that was after the ref moved in to stop it .I'm surprised there has been so little mention of it . If this had happened to a British boxer fighting the hometown favourite in Canada there would have been an outcry.

if you watch very closely as richie davis steps in alcine goes absolutely everywhere and it was also mentioned when walking back to the corner out of camera shot he was very shaky on his legs.. i can see why people say it shouldnt of been stopped but after the amount of head injuries over the last year including one death i think referees are being asked to step in much more frequently to stop these tragic incidents occuring

Classy response. I know you are "in" with the Rose camp and may be related to him in some way, I don't know, but why get so offended at someone creating a very fair thread topic and offering their opinion?

So someone who has Alcine ahead in a very close fight knows nothing about boxing? Good one, mate. The judges having Brian ahead by 4 rounds is more off.
