Jack O'Halloran

Post by boxingguy2469 »

Just a bit of trivia here....I am personal friends with Jack. He was a decent heavyweight who fought both Foreman and Norton.....Sorry to say he lost both fights....He was at one time ranked 10th in the world. You would know him better as "Non" the mute Kryptonian criminal in Superman I and Superman II. He also appeared in numerous other films like "Farewell my Lovely", "King Kong", "Dragnet", and the "Flintstones" to name just a few....

He managed to KO Ali's brother Rahman Ali....Ali called Jack on the phone and told him to "Please knock out my brother!" "I want to discourage him from boxing anymore...." Jack obliged and KOd him in 9 rounds I think....

You can see Jack O'Halloran on YouTube. He is a giant of a man and has a bigger heart!

Next time you see him, would you mind asking him
what his recollections were of fighting Joe Bugner(April.15.1969),
why go to England and fight so early in his career(20th pro fight)
how he prepared for it,which sparring partners he had used.
From what I read,it was after Bugner's bout with O'Halloran
that Bugner's manager Andy Smith decided that Bugner
really had what it takes and that they
were going to go to America for some further training
and expand his career.
Also please tell him to write his next book on his own boxing career.
Boxing fans would like to read it as well as document boxing history during the Golden Age of Heavyweights.

I know that he loves visiting the UK! He really loves Ireland....

Jack was a hard puncher and other fighters feared fighting him because of his size, strength , and punching power. George Foreman rated him as the 4th hardest puncher he ever fought. George ranked Ali number 5.

So anyhow, if you could beat Jack or just go the distance, you had to be a really good fighter...

I think he already has a book out. He is trying to develop a movie studio in Long Beach, California. Physically it would be one of the largest studios in the world. Spielberg is interested! Escrow seems to be a problem at the moment....

Go to Ask.com and punch in "Jacks Page" or just "Jack O'Halloran"...Not sure when I'll see him again...Possibly this month....or even this week....

He really doesn't like to talk much about his boxing career. I get the idea that it's kind of a bad memory. He was doing really well and was in line for a title shot but then lost to some bum named Jimmy Summerville. He prefers to talk about his movies or his studio project.

Funny. I was watching Quarry vs Chuvalo on YouTube the other day & they're bring former champs & current contenders into the ring. (Why don't they do that anymore?) I notice this giant guy in the ring. Then they say his name & I remember it from Superman! I don't think I knew he boxed. I knew he'd been an athelete though. He was really intimidating in Superman!!

Oddly enough, a few days later I watched Norton vs Pedro Lovell from Rocky!!!
