I think there's a fair old danger in writing off improving fighters like Martin Murray. It isn't clearly defined how much better he is getting or what his level is. Likewise it's hard to know what level of performance the fading Martinez will produce this time. I think it's bound to be a close fight.

I think Murray is in with a genuine chance and has got SM at the right time. SM is a true p4p great as its widely recongnised that he's fighting above his natural weight. Murray will have to be nothing short of 100% fit and ready but he can take heart from what another big MW can do to Martinez in Chavez. Murray is an absolute beast at the weight, until you've stood next to him or been in the same room as him you just can't believe how big he is and I think he may even chop Martinez down. SM is cagey, counters well but does let off the gas in spells and if Murray can take him out of his comfort zone he's in with a shout. Oh and at 6/1 I'm taking him.

This is the best post, he is very strong for a Middleweight very well built and explosive we haven't seen the best of him yet but I believe tomorrow we will!! He is very hungry and focused has a great game plan from 1 of the best tacticians in the business!! He has a great chance Martinez is getting no younger, he is a great fighter with great timing and power but I believe Martin will come of age and a few of the boxing fraternity are swaying that way too

Murray is a good fighter but he didnt exactly Take sturm to school even in giving him a tough fight! I think Macklin gave Sturm a tougher fight than Murray did but thats subjective I guess! I just struggle to see how Murray wins this aside from Martinez developing the physical capabilities of a pensioner overnight which I guess is possible but quite remote ha.

Martinez comfortable win. Murray a good solid operator, but not on the same level.

Heart says he produces one of the greatest results in British boxing history. Seems such a grounded decent guy, where boxing has changed his life so much for the better.

Head says he goes out on his shield very late, or loses a wideish UD. Similar to both Macklin and barker in fact.

Given Macklin will likely be eaten up by GGG this summer, Murray v barker then would be a fantastic fight for sept time.

He's been pretty late with hitting his peak though. I haven't seen anything in his recent fights to indicate that he's on the slide - that tells us more than just his age.

If your looking at it logically Murray has very little chance of winning. Martinez is the much better boxer and Murray doesn't carry the kind of power to take him out. He's also not the kind of fighter to make it a war and take the difference in skill out of the equation. Only one winner here and if Murray wasn't British everyone would be moaning about how shit an opponent he is for Martinez. I'll probably look foolish in the morning now, because Murray will go and do the unthinkable.
