I dont know! Atleast Rees was/had been a european champion. Purdy lost to Lynes who lost to Witter who in turn lost to Gavin so I might not even be in the top 5 domestically!

There was no was for Rees to win that fight. I couldn't even imagine a way realistically.

At least with Purdy I can see a way he wins. In no way do I think he does, but I can at least theoretically see it.

Yeah I can see where you're coming from! Atleast Purdy possesses a punch which Rees doesnt!

Is Devon Alexander very good? All I know is Witter didn't come back out so I know quite little about DA. Didn't think he was a puncher.

He's not really a puncher to be honest but he's beaten the likes of Matthysse *slighly controversially* and Maidana. Both big punchers and Maidana he dealt with fairly comfortably so unless Alexander performs like dog shit I struggle to see how Purdy will win. Answering your question though, no he's not a puncher.

He has been in with some pretty hellacious bangers (for once I am not using that phrase to refer to Fat Git's wobbling breasts) so Purdy is gonna have to catch him with a peach.

This would have to be the biggest upset of a brit abroad if purdy pulls this off considering he probs isnt even in the british rankings top 5

I thought he had held the British belt? Didn't he upset Watson(?) the bald lad from Manchester and then beat him again in a rematch? He sounds like a banger. Those levels again huh?

Wish him all the best and hope he pulls it off.

He would have to KO Alexander to win though as he will be to slick.

Beat Watson twice but there his only decent wins and he's been beaten by Peter McDonagh, Colin Lynes and Denton Vassell.

Can see him lasting out 12 painful rounds and hearing the final bell.

His win over Cosme Rivera ranks up there with the worst British stoppages of recent times

He really has no business being in a ring with Alexander, and he is going to get smashed to peices.

Aleksander is no big puncher, but he should be too slick for Purdy.

On paper it says he beat Matthysse, but in reality he lost that fight.

Purdy's only hope is to landa big punch inside five rounds. No way he lasts the distance, Alexander isn't a big puncher but he is a big enough puncher to stop Purdy

That was a arlier generation of Lee Purdy, so doesn't count ;;-)

Just looked at the scores for Purdy Vs Lynes Judge 1 scores in 110-119 to Lynes, Judge 2 112-117 to Lynes then our old mate Ian John Lewis scores it a draw 114-114
