I'm sorry to be cold, as I don't know Jim, but we all die someday, and it doesn't mean his writing was any better.

I actually don't mind Brady that much, he doesn't rile me as much as some of you fellas.

This was my contribution to that thread so my conscience is clear...how will Boxing News fill the void?

Very sad, 56is no age :(

His writing wouldn`t please everybody, but then again who`s do?

But he obviously loved the sport and despite a few blunders he did know his stuff.
It will be quite a job to find somebody to fill his role within BN, he covered most of their stuff across the water.

Agree with Tonyevs view, its no loss and my thoughts are with his family.

I didn't read enough of his work to judge to be honest. I've had the internet for a while and felt I could live without Boxing News for a while.

You know that's some 18-stone ex-trucker who can't drive any more due to a bad back and gout.

Sad news for Brady's friends and family. Separating the personal from the professional is probably apropriate at a time like this.

Whether his style was liked or not it's obviously a great shame. I've never read his stuff in BN much because they're not the bits of BN I'm bothered about, but I did enjoy his Boxing Confidential book which I thought was very entertaining and informative.

And fair play to him, there's plenty of boxing writers out there and he was consistently able to get stuff in print and get paid for it, so someone, somewhere liked him.

Bah! first the Australiain scene reporter (Don Marks?) passes, and now this. I might not have been Brady's biggest fan, but he wrote some enertaining pieces.

Look, Nick is bang on the money. No-one wishes the fella dead but he couldn't write for toffee, he tried to use metaphors that didn't work and at times, sounded downright racist - what is the point in being a hypocrite now?

I wish he could have lived, and his writing died.

Yep i wasn't a fan, but terrible to die at 56. It was a nice piece in Boxing news as well.
