Re: Frank Bruno V Corrie Sanders
In London, Bruno... In South Africa its a different fight. Even then Frank has more on his CV that says he can win...but that doesn't mean he would.

Re: Frank Bruno V Corrie Sanders
A toss up. Sanders would have a massive handspeed advantage. But if Frank could survive the first three rounds he could turn it around in about 8 or 9.

April was Corrie Sanders month, this is May now.

So Frans Botha... :) Never fought Corrie in the pros. Didn't want his ass handing to him again, that's why!Jaywheel wrote::PSeamus wrote:April was Corrie Sanders month, this is May now.

Incidentally, I'm totally up for a slew of Mike 'the Bounty' Hunter threads.
And I'm not kidding either.

Mike Hunter. He was alright wasn't he. A bit of an Oliver McCall when it came to partying though. Corrie beat Johnny Nelson. Discuss! Lol

Bruno stops Sanders, Hunter would just outpoint him.

The Bounty Hunter ruled. He actually was avoided because he could make fighters look silly at times.loaded_gloves wrote:Incidentally, I'm totally up for a slew of Mike 'the Bounty' Hunter threads.

We've had storms like this before.......
They come and go and do little harm. I'm sure the interest in Corrie will wind down once we have discussed all the hypotheticals imaginable.
The five Pre Liston ones I want to propose are
Sanders vs Carnera.
Sanders vs Galento
Sanders vs Marciano
Sanders vs Baer
oh...and Sanders vs Godzilla

How about Lionel Butler?
Anything at all regarding Lionel Butler.
Lionel Butler also fits into a sentence with the name 'Tubbs' and the expression 'one punch knockout', but in the favour of Butler and over a vastly superior Tubbs.

BUTLER! BUTLER! BUTLER!
Just when you think things are crazy in here, I'm involved in a minor scuffle in the CS where I'm being told that Marvin Hagler was too puny to compete with the Middleweights of today.

That's not crazy, that's fact. A 160lb man today is heavier than a 160lb man in 1978. Think of it like inflation.
Similarly, Lionel Butler at 260lb would sadly not be obese enough to compete with a modern 240lb obese heavyweight.
Please learn boxing.

Re: Frank Bruno V Corrie Sanders
Hypotheticals with Sanders vs any pre-Liston HWs are not allowed because they are too clearly mis-matches. Everyone knows that the Liston era establishes the modern era of athletics and that all athletes prior to Liston are not worthy of discussion.BoxBuzz wrote:We've had storms like this before.......

Well Godzilla and Liston were contemporaries.....
Re: Frank Bruno V Corrie Sanders
I always did love how Tubbs' wife I assume came up and grabbed Tubbs after that KO and started doing that Black Woman "OH LORDY NOT MY BABY!!!" kinda cryloaded_gloves wrote:How about Lionel Butler?

If you don't know what I mean, watch the KO again...you will.

That's right Saad, didn't you know that? 160 Pounds now, is different than 160 pounds thenloaded_gloves wrote:That's not crazy, that's fact. A 160lb man today is heavier than a 160lb man in 1978. Think of it like inflation.

Re: Frank Bruno V Corrie Sanders
Evidently Hagler wouldn't have the guts to fight at Middleweight when he could cut down to 154. The fact that he could have done that during his career appears to be irrelevant. The guy was a Middleweight at 18 and a Middleweight at 45.gilgamesh wrote:That's right Saad, didn't you know that. 160 Pounds now, is different than 160 pounds thenloaded_gloves wrote:That's not crazy, that's fact.
