Micky Steeds comeback
Why? He was barely an area level HW a few years back.

He was. Every fighter to beat him won a major title of some sort and only one stopped him. Definitely area level.turbostar wrote:Why? He was barely an area level HW a few years back.

Why not? He is only 29 and hasn't been in that many wars. Maybe he is after finding a renewed love for the sport. People got bills to pay.

Re: Micky Steeds comeback
I don't see the problem with this. He's only 30 and there aren't that many decent durable stepping stones for up and coming heavyweights working in the UK, so there should be some decent paydays for him, not to mention Prizefighter opportunities.turbostar wrote:Why? Re: Micky Steeds comeback
The British cruiserweight scene isn't exactly packed so if Micky is serious and gets in decent shape that would be the route to go down if he is in it for boxing reasons. If it's cash, then heavyweight is the way to go.warriorbox wrote:I don't see the problem with this. After Kenna beats Lewison then I'd love to see a Steeds rematch.

Haven't seen him since he retired, but heard he had piled it on. Good fighter and I though he would go a bit further than he did.mickey1975 wrote:Didn't someone on here say he was huge recently? 20stone+?

For all the people that don't think Micky can do it any more and think he's 20 stone you need to take a trip to the gym and see him training he trains like a man possessed now if any person or cruiser weight thinks he's in there just for a quick buck think again he's coming for that British title

what gym is he training at

Steed fighting Gammer was an all-time, definitive low in the history of the British heavyweight title.

To many people that have never even laced a glove up have got to much to say if Micky would have been trained properly from the start he would of been a British champion people forget the boxers he fought all good fighters not forgetting the world no 1 Hernandez what cruiser weight today is mixing with top level fighters
Re: Micky Steeds comeback
didn't he box Rob Norton for the British Crusierweight title on a Friday Fight Night? God, those were the glory days

Re: Micky Steeds comeback
i've been saying the same thing to mick for years, he didn't know how to train properly for a fight till now, just look at who he's boxedMitchellkyra wrote:To many people that have never even laced a glove up have got to much to say if Micky would have been trained properly from the start he would of been a British champion people forget the boxers he fought all good fighters not forgetting the world no 1 Hernandez what cruiser weight today is mixing with top level fighters
julius francis, garry delaney, darren corbett, terry dunstan, and of course hernandez, it's the who's who of british boxing you cant buy that experience not bad for someone that has not trained or been injury free for most of his fights,
if you look at all the other cruiserweights in britain how many can say that they have boxed for the british title twice and won an area title and boxed the number one cruiser in the world, micky will tell you him self he will fight anyone in the world and he aint scared to fight not like some so called fighters in britain but let me tell you now that it will take a good fighter in britain to beat the new micky steeds
Re: Micky Steeds comeback
Closely followed by Gammar fighting Krence for the vacant title..... a year after Gammar beat Krence by KO in an eliminator!loaded_gloves wrote:Steed fighting Gammer was an all-time, definitive low in the history of the British heavyweight title.
