Post by jessi »

Noticed in the schedule section that he has his first fight in 16 months in his hometown of Peterborough, May the 11th is the date and the opponent is yet to be named, I really hope he comes back properly this time, his a complete natural and great to watch !
Good luck Michael :TU:

Yeah.... good I am glad he is giving it another go.... lets hope he gives it a proper go.

I really don't want egg on my face on my predictions on how far he will go when he turned over.

Wasted talent.... there were a lot of people in my town (kettering...where i thought he was from?) who followed him.... none of which were exactly boxing fans. Never seemed in love with the sport to me.

Seen him fight twice - 1st time when he was given a gift against Ancliff on Setanta (Appleby vs Lindsay undercard??). 2nd against Najah Ali where he got dropped and lost.

Never seen anything to justify the hype he receives.

He is good, hopefully he will prove it this time around, won everything as a junior amateur, and lost narrowly to Luke Campbell which basically cost him his gb podium squad position, he is class

I know he was a very good amateur and is highly thought of by lots of people. I can only judge him on what I've seen so far.

What do you think has been missing as a pro jessi? Is it a lack of desire/dedication? Or are there any other mitigating circumstances?

He is class.

He hasn't trained properly, eaten properly and lived the life in the past.

You can't get to the top on talent alone (unless your name is Wilfred Benitez or Nicolino Locche!)

You have to put in the hard graft. Knuckle down, have good people around you that you listen to. Be prepared to work your way up.

Good luck to him. He still has time to become a very special fighter.

I sparred a few rounds with him when he 1st turned over, he was very very good but I heard he lacks any sort of work ethic, if he gives it his all he could be excellent but the ship has sailed if you ask me, hope im wrong but I doubt it :TU:

Ive met him at York hall a couple of times, and both times he seems to just be hanging around with the wrong sort of people, most times I've seen Kevin Mitchell his got idiots around him too, this can't help when your a pro fighter ! I could imagine him wanting to go for an early morning run on a Sunday morning and just getting easily talked into going out on the piss on the Saturday night instead.
I think it's just disciplin he lacks and it's going to be hard to change, I really hope his grown up abit and can dedicate himself to the sport he was blessed to do, or it will be another real shame.
