Is Robin Deakin doing better than he was at pro? Was he forced to retire?damianhucker1 wrote:Theres loads mate , too many to mention them all but some who ive had direct contact with either on my shows or as opponents on away shows are :mahatma wrote:Which ex pros box on the white collar circuit and how have they got on ?Any noticeable wins or losses?

I dont think ive seen him win yet , doesnt mean he hasnt , just that ive not witnessed it , hes on the queensbury league at the moment , spends too much time showboating and sticking his tounge out etc instead of actually throwing punchesCraigyid14 wrote:Is Robin Deakin doing better than he was at pro? Your lad boxed well last night against Reid mate, very impressed. Thought he was going through the gears and was getting to Reid up until the knockdown.
Hope he was ok after the stoppage, took some heavy shots at the end

Lack of experience of being in that situation , first time hes ever been knocked down , judges apparantly had him ahead so should have just held on , knockdown would probably have cost him the decision but he tried to go back at it whilst still dazed , did well to get up in the first place , was a big shot that caught him just above the temple .
But will learn from it and make him better , for a lad whos been boxing for just 20 months hes mixing in good company , he will make a descent pro when we turn him over , hes already said he wants to rematch reid at some point before then , which that in itself shows his character .
In fact had 2 managers approach us since then already lol as they were impressed with him , but not turning him over just yet , end of the year , hard matches til then to get him ready and keep learning .

I thought he had resorted to making shitty reality tv shows?

Nobody has mentioned the legendary Garry Sayer (youtube him if you haven't seen his pugilistic skills.)

Sven Hamer was a good UK middle/super middle back in the 90's. he's there as a heavy/cruiser now.

Darren Dorrington was another. Mind you anyone thinking that unlicenced is an easy gig, watch poor Darren getting badly knocked out in one round.

are these fighters white collar or unlicenced? I thought they were two different things? Surely ex pros don't participate in White Collar (as the thread is titled). that would be barbaric. Dominic Neagus facing some fat estate agent from Essex.... ![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

White collar, unlicensed and Semi Pro are the exact same thing , just that different organisations choose to use different variations of the name , theres no different rules for each , each individually promoter chooses what theyre calling it and what theyre rules are .

As the other poster said though mate, isnt that barbaric? Having danny williams or someone who's been a pretty decent fighter vs some guy that has been boxing for 6 months or some shit!damianhucker1 wrote:White collar, unlicensed and Semi Pro are the exact same thing , just that different organisations choose to use different variations of the name , theres no different rules for each , each individually promoter chooses what theyre calling it and what theyre rules are .

It wouldnt happen , No one is that stupid , if they did then they have no place in any sport .
People like Williams would only fight the best lads on the circuit who sell shed loads of tickets , Wouldnt make sense otherwise .
Why would anyone fork out bigger money to bring Williams in to fight a no hoper it wouldnt make sense and would lose money .
