Who takes this battle of technicians?
I'm pretty sure this one's going to the cards.
Zapata/Narvaez at flyweight.
Re: Zapata/Narvaez at flyweight.
Talk about a chess match. Zapata was usually in for the full 15 rounds. Narvaez punched harder at 112 than Zapata, Zapata was more slippery. At 112, I would go with Narvaez, but something like 115-113 or even 114-113 (with Zapata getting knocked down - he didn't have the world's best chin)

Doesn't really matter who had more power. Narvaez is a solid technician. Zapata was a wizard, so long as his head was screwed on right. He'd slide in with those long lefts and be out of range before Narvaez had a chance to counter or score anything meaningful. Easy UD for Bujia.

I'm sort of in the middle. Close but clear win for Zapata (maybe 8-4 with a KD for Narvaez mixed in).King Carlos wrote:Doesn't really matter who had more power. Narvaez is a solid technician. I respect King Carlos' opinion, but disagree. Zapata was a slapper at 112 and Narvaez was too good to be an easy mark for anyone who didn't have the punch to make him defensive. Probably depends where the fight is held, but IMO Narvaez was more skilled at 112

Narvaez was always a pretty tepid stylist. Not anywhere near Zapata's class if the Panamanian comes in near his best.
Narvaez quickly becomes accustomed to swiping air all night and lacks the pressuring ability or offensive output to change his game up.He sure as hell isn't going to outbox and outcounter zapata, few fighters would beat the lanky Panamanian by doing so.
