Any pubs in South London area that have allegedly?

Post by ILikeBeer »

I just wondered if anybody knows any?

I live in Croydon, and watched Haye vs Chisora in a pub on allegedly. But a lot of pubs only seemed to get that in because it was a big fight. (Feck knows why, we all knew who was going to win.) So a couple of months back, when I went out for Price vs Thompson there was nowhere showing it other than a supposed sports bar. I say supposed, because they seemed to decide that the thing you want the most when watching sport is a DJ. They even asked me for ID to get in, just to sit and watch a 2-round fight that I couldn't hear because of the DJ and the plebs around me dancing.

Anybody know any pubs in the South London-ish area that have allegedly. Just curious.

I have no idea on the south London front as I avoid the area if I can.

You try to aviod most places when you can.

To be fair, I nearly didn't watch Haye vs Chisora in the pub, because it was so insanely obvious who was going to win. But I felt like a pint, and watching Chisora getting spanked.

Anyone know why B.o.x.n.a.t.i.o.n is always pre edited by the Boxrec Moderator to say "Allegedly" when you try to submit a post with it in?
HBO, Showtime, Sky and ESPN don't so is it just to stop advertising or some other reason?

I think I've found one in Carshalton that has it.

I might go in there for an evening when there's a fight on I don't care about. That way, I can confirm whether they have it or not without risking missing anything. :salut:

Good man. :salut:

If it's in/near Croydon I'll end up there for convenience. But it's good to know. Like I say, there's a Sports Bar within walking distance of my flat. But they insist on getting a DJ in on Friday and Saturday nights.

Last time I was in there on a Saturday night there's me watching a David Price fight, some guy watching Spanish football, a group of people which included a couple having a big argument and some twat of a DJ. I don't want to hear some twat going; "Come on Croydon, get on the floor" when I'm trying to watch a sporting contest.

F.rank Warren (who is also editted to 'allegedly') likes suing or threatening to sue every fcuker and his dog, so the forum owners edit his name and his subsidaries to say 'Allegedly;........ which has become FW's nickname

Is that done in jest?

When I first signed up, I legitimately thought Frank Spank had threatened to sue boxrec because of what some users had said about him, so they'd changed it to avoid legal action.

I had no idea it was automatically edited, just though it was the done thing.

I even type 'allegedly' directly in!

That's under new ownership as of 1st July. :witzend: Hopefully they'll keep allegedly, at least to the weekend. The Sports Bar in Croydon has reopened as some weird attempt at a swanky cocktail bar. It has an opening night next week with 'special' guest including the cast of Made In Chelsea.

I may have to find a plan b. Frank's channel is rarer in pubs than females are in my bedroom. At least in Croydon.

Out of interest which pub were you talking about in this topic? Is it the Prince of Wales?
