Yeah, its a disgraceful card and to put it on pay-per-view just shows what the promoters think of Hattons fans.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Warren putting on a 'spoiler' show on the same night. Especially if he's got next to no undercard fights to compete with. I can see SKY struggling to get bums in front of the tv for Hatton vs Maussa.

Yes, I'm not really too keen on shelling out 15 quid for what appears to be a mismatch, but I reckon two rounds of the Nelson snooze-fest will have me straight onto Sky Box Office.

He can't take it. The first time he gets in with a live opponent who can punch even a bit he's going to be koed.

The only times I've seen him tagged cleanly he's almost been koed. And he seems to feel the effects for a good while afterwards too.
I don't think his power is half as potent as people think either.
I don't want to sound like a hater but I really don't see him as anything more than a domestic level fighter at best and doubt he will even rise to Europeon level. He's just been well managed and manuvoured into his 'title fights' while never really facing a live opponent.
Bruce Scott almost koed him but hadn't fought in a long while and probably didn't get much notice for that fight....

It's a shame sometimes the way Boxing is run these days, all the caution surrounding Enzo, "can't put him in with a live opponent or he might lose" i mean it's a bit sad isn't it?

I agree, Boxing has become obcessed with unbeaten records, which is a great shame.

Its true, many great fighters learnt as much from early defeats as they did from their victories, but today boxing is really a sanitised version of what it was 30 or even 20 years ago.
Also with fighters often fighting just 3 or 4 times a year now (and often less once they become 'contenders') a loss is much more devastating than it would be if he was fighting 10 + times a year.
In the old days when fighters fought 20 times plus a year if a fighter lost a bout he'd often get a rematch a few weeks later.

Nelson - Cantatore eh ? What a barnstormer. Send the kids to bed because this one is gonna be ugly. Though it is amazing what you find down the side of your couch sometimes. During 'Calazaghe - Whats his face' I found an unused condom, an old five pound note, a rolled kit kat wrapper, an empty crisp packet manipulated to resemble a bow tie and a Betta-ware catalogue.
Its also always good to bet with your pals which minute of the first 2 rounds, Enzo's 'opponent' is going to hurtle towards the canvas.
I heard that Maccirinelli actually thought that 'warm-up' was a common Eastern European name because he's fought so many of them. :P
Well get ready Enzo because your finally facing a name that the British public can identify with. Yes folks its.......Yuri Yelistratov. Having already burst Mathew Ellis's bubble and experienced in helping pad fighters records the nightmare has returned. And if he stubs his toe on the way to the ring I hear Ojay Abrahams has been hitting the roids recently so he'll be available to step in and fall over.
As for Hatton - 'Mad Dog' Maussa i'll watch it but only because I get free cable. Its been good for me so far. Not withstanding the Adult Channel I also got to see Earl-Bennett which was fuckin' quality. I mean there was no way I would ever have seen it otherwise because as good a fight as it turned out to be, on paper, it was not worth 9.99. No siree bob.
I take it that Hatton - Maussa is going to be at a civilised time? I can't see the Yanks being too bothered with it. As for the result...I can only see Ricky. Unless Maussa rabbit punches him when he is turning to acknowledge the crowd at the intro or something. I mean Maussa struck me as being frickin mental when I watched that fight with Harris. A total nut job with a bizarre style which looks like he should be lacing them up at a carnival and not in Vegas for a title fight. Alas it is effective....I guess.....kinda.
I've also always wanted to see the face of someone who has just discovered they have won the lottery. I think I got a glimpse of it from what I saw of Maussa's corner when they invaded the ring after 'Viciousless' Vivien got counted out.

Someone who i work with knows the fight academy promoters & he has told me that the undercard will have some decent fighters on, weather they will have decent opponents to fight is another issue all together.

The undercard is starting to come together for the November 26 Ricky Hatton vs Carlos Maussa IBF/WBA world jr welterweight unification pay-per-view card in Sheffield, England. Unofficially, cruiserweight Carl Thompson, heavyweight Roman Greenberg, featherweight Michael Gomez, middleweight Matt Macklin, and jr middleweight Matthew Hatton will all see action against opponents to be named. "Unification" will be available live in the United States starting at 4PM ET via cable systems iN Demand and TVN and from satellite providers DirecTV and Dish Network. The broadcast is being distributed in the USA by Integrated Sports.

Not entirely certain how they're gonna get Gomez on the show unless he'sleft SN too.
