Burns - Gonzalez RBR

Post by diddy »

If this goes 12 and Burns wins it will be one of the greatest robberies of all time. 6-1 Gonzalez thru 7.

Ricky Burns has the heart and the mindset of a champion.

Gonzalez has long arms and he's well-schooled, but sometimes that's not enough.

In round 7, Gonzalez ran into the stone wall of Ricky Burns determination to win, and couldn't get through it.

Gonzalez has the clearly better skills. He tried too hard to win rounds huge and it cost him. He spilled his tank. Needs to learn to pace himself more in rounds. If they were to fight again I would pick Gonzalez to box a smarter fight. You don't go in there trying to finish a warrior like Burns. You go in there trying to outpoint him. Gonzalez clearly won the first 6 rounds. In Rd 7 he went balls to wall trying to get a finish - and it cost him. He expended too much energy.
