The IBF has been exposed as criminal racket. How it is still in business I don't effing know.

How many types of world champion exist in the WBA alone - I forgot about their
two world champions per weight division - so... that is...

...12 types of world title belt.

It is a disgrace.

You might think it is OK but it is killing our sport.Keep writing about this subject, it will make you look more and more daft.
Except you can't come up with a decent rebuttal.

Horse making a defence on behalf of the 'alphabet boys' please bring it on sonny!! :box:
im not disputing what you say.i just wanna hear your champ list so i can pick it to pieces
OK - I will show you the list and you can then try to pick the argument I make to pieces, I am telling you now though bud, you don't have the knowledge. :TU:

Broner is a hype job with the worst mayweather-shell impersonation since Berto - who is now enough of a Hype job that GBP seen fit to avoid all the real contenders at 140 and give him a prize fight with Malignaggi. I think Malignaggi will shock everyone by exposing Broners technical deffiencies and probably score a boring points win over this hypejob.
As much as I'm willing the smack talk legend Mallignaggi to somehow physically boss and embarrass the humourless, irritating Broner, you can't deny the talent we're dealing with here. Burns would have never beaten Broner end of.
Yeah I agree. People saying Broner is a hype job make no sense to me. As much as a cock as he can be, the guy is clearly skilled a very good counter puncher with power.

He's only faught 1 world level fighter and lost. If you want a 'real deal', have a look at what Mares did to Ponce DeLeon. Rees and DeMarco are there to be hit. Malignaggi is a boxer, he's going to make a clown out of Broner.... well, he does that to himself i guess.

He isn't a fraud, his reign as a world champion is though.

Would he have been world champion if there wasn't 12 belts flying around? No

Is he a good solid, European level fighter? Yes, and he was damn lucky tonight.

Broner would knock out the real problem of boxing - champions who aren't world class. It is like Scotland winning one of 12 versions of the world cup and calling themselves 'world champions'.
Disagree tonight he showed why he is a champion, he didnt break the guy through luck he broke him mentally through grit and heart. You could tell that kid was quality straight away, burns was being outclassed but to stand there and give it everything you've got and turn a fight like that is what boxing is about. Heart!
You sound like Micky from Rocky :OhYes:

I had it 86-85 for Burns at the stoppage, but I think I heavily over compensated for Jim Watt being a complete fuckwit. Burns showed great heart to pull through that one. I think Gonzalez would have been taken out by the end of the fight anyway, I think his legs had gone. I don't buy the injury bollocks either, if you break your hand in a world title fight, you fight with one hand, there was no noticeable moment where he may have broken it, he was still throwing punches with both hands in the 9th round, less than earlier because he had tired, but he hadn't shaken one of his hands at any point as if he had hurt it.

86-85 Burns is a terrible card.

Which rounds did you score for him?

2,3,4,8 and 9. 2 and 3 probably should have been Gonzalez rounds, but because Watt talks shite, I ignore his view of the fight completely and usually go against what he says and that can skew the scoring.

So there are 16 - yes SIXTEEN sanctioning bodies in business today. That is a fornicating lot
- even more than I thought there was, so what I am going to do is rank them in seniority
- the most established to the least. So the WBA - it came from the old NBA is the senior belt
and then comes the WBC, then IBF which was an offshoot of the WBA (again) and then the WBO
which was another offshoot of the WBA. So

WBA: Richar Abril
WBA Super: Vacant
WBC: Adrien Broner
WBC Youth World: Jose Maxian
IBF: Miguel Vasquez
WBO: Ricky Burns
WBB: Vacant
WBF: Chris Goodwin
WBPF: Vacant
IBO: Emiliano Marsili
IBA: Vacant
IBU: Vacant
GBO:
GBU:
GBF:
GBF: Geir Jorgensen

And I haven't added the WBC 'Silver' title which is an interim world championship. Because we would have nine champions.

So even amongst that lot, I would have Ricky Burns the 4th best lightweight out of all those fighters calling themselves 'champions' and you might say - I don't know what you would say. I remember there being one world champion and the day he wasn't the best in his weight class is the day he got his title took off him, now when you have 16 - 17 title belts where people can call themselves 'lightweight champion of the world' that is a problem don't you think? If Brazil beat England in the world cup semi final and then England played Argentina in the third place play off and went home and called themselves 'world cup champions' everyone would laugh and say how ridiculous it is for them to do that, but for some reason, Ricky Burns not being the best lightweight in the world calling himself 'world champion' should be ridiculous but it doesn't seem to be on here.

If there was 5 miss worlds, 5 formula one world champions, 5 prime ministers, 5 field marshals - their title and prestige would hold no weight. We all know Ricky Burns isn't the best fighter at 135 - so why is it ridiculous to question his right to call him 'world champion' (singular).

What he should call himself is 'world title claimant'
