Has Eddie Hearn lived up to the hype?

When Eddie first came onto the scene, I thought great, we've got a new young promoter with a genuine love for boxing and and he'll be looking to put on the best fights available! I have to be honest though, Ive been left disappointed. I think he's put on some pretty poor fights at times and especially in regards to main events. After Burns beat Gonzalez on saturday night in the post fight interview with Ifilm London, he was saying that he was thinking of putting Burns in with Rees. I mean im not saying that it would be a bad fight but who really wants to see it?! Now it looks like Brook is going to be fighting Carson Jones again which I really dont care for and seems like a backward step to me. When he first came on the scene he kept saying about putting on the fights that the fans wanted to see and that how other promoters put on too many mismatches. I just think he's basically doing the same thing himself! Has he been better for the fighters? You could say definietly he has! Im not so sure for the fans though. What are your thoughts?

getting more shows on which is good but some of the shows are not up to standard
domestic shows like saunders v ryder are better than unheard of names from south america,,

report card would be allot done and more to do or
has the potential to be great once the effert is put in

To be fair, Brook was meant to be fighting Alexander on Saturday and had to pull out injured. Eddie can't do anything about that. He has a deal for Brook to face the winner of Alexander-Purdy, if he has to fight in the meantime then Jones is a good opponent. Brook struggled big time previously and will get a chance to show how far he has come before his world title fight.

I would be happy with Burns-Rees if it was a stay busy fight with a big one on the horizon. Would be interesting to compare Burns and Broner's efforts.

why not get Vazquez in for Burns

#yawn at matchroom.... they aint done anything & they have an exclusive contract with Sky.... no excuse

I heard that they dont have a deal in place for Kell to face the winner. Someone said *dont know how accurate it is* that Purdy had taken Brooks mandatory position to secure the fight with Alexander.

Vasquez fight could happen soon,to say matchroom have done nothing is silly, he has build a decent stable from nothing and has given some of his fighters a chance of a lifetime(Rees,Purdy)they are putting some good shows in arenas not leisure centres,like another poster have said there is work to do but he has made some good signings and I think next year is going to be really good for boxing on Sky.
