Murray V Chavez Jr apparently in the works?

Post by Finn »

Martin Murray must have impressed and is now landing more big fights by the looks of it.

Fancy him to finally get the nod against a world class fighter this time round.

It's not that he couldn't get in the country its that they didn't have enough time to sort one out

Murray will need at least a double knockout to get wins against local heroes in Mexico City and Buenas Aires.
Now that he did so well against Martinez they could at least bring him home for a shot.

As long as it is not a catchweight Murray will be ok, but if not....

Chavez may well be a juicer, we know he has cheated before.

I have to go with a Chavez stoppage here. Totally differentr fighter to Sturm and Martinez. This is the wrong fight for Murray. His best bet would be against Geale, although I think Geale is an excellent boxer, his style would be best suited to Murray.

I dunno, with Murray's defence how is Chavez Jr going to land very much clean on him? Martinez struggled to and his accuracy/skills are far ahead of Chavez Jr.

Murray in my opinion won the fight against Martinez by a round but it was a close fight and home fighter always has the edge. I think he beats Chavez Jr. He is underrated by many in the boxing world. I think if he beats Chavez Jr. he should be looking at Geale or winner of Golovkin-Macklin.

Geale isnt all that. He got outboxed by Anthony Mundine for crying outloud in their first fight.

Chavez will put on a lot of pressure though. It wont be like Martinez who backs off and counters and throws fast combo's and then gets out of harms way. Chavez will be on top of him roughing him up on the inside.

Given 2 decent showings against world class opponents and the domestic rivals swerving him i'd say he has proved himself worthy of being highly rated.

Did u not see martin rough Martinez? Chavez yes may be strong and big but martin is like a bear very physically strong and Chavez gets hit too much ?? Martin can box going forward or backwards I'm sure all the fighters who have sparred him over the years can vouch that

Murray can win this, but he needs to adjust his guard and cover up that body to do it as Chavez will work it the minute he can see it up close.

Stick and move for 12 rounds is his est bet. Jr will get dissinterested hitting thin air.

2 decent showings = a draw and a loss but eh he has beaten 13-0 council worker from south america and schooled a 20yr old 8-0 college student, Seriously Macklin or Barker would bat him Froch, Groves or Degale would eat him alive I would even go as far to say Saunders would beat him.
