Saunders vs Ryder (and EBU fight for Prince Arron)

Post by magnus »

Can't see a thread about this already, but it seems Matchroom have won the purse bids for BJS vs Ryder. Let's hope it happens.

I also read yesterday that Prince Aaron will fight Max Bursak for the EBU title on the bill for the final of that weird Monaco "Super 4" tourney.

Bursak is Middleweight champ mate. I think Aaron already has moved up.

Really hope this fight goes ahead and warren dosent pull saunders from it. Two top class young unbeaten fighters. Similar to the delage/groves fight without the anamosity. Should be a great fight. Think saunders will win it but I really havent seen much of ryder but he seems to have alot of hype behind him.

Was Ryder a good amateur? He hasn't done much as a pro to justify much hype.

If it goes ahead then it will be a perfect test for both fighters. BJS said after his last fight on BN that he would not vacate the title even with the politics in fighting Ryder. One fight on Sky? Don't see a major problem.

BJS needs these tests if he is going to compete at a higher level. If he wants a world title shot, then it is only going to get tougher.

A real good hard domestic clash - exactly what the British title is all about.

He won two ABA senior novice titles and around 30 of his 30 odd amateur fights so less experience than BJS as an amateur. This should be a very good contest I'm not sure BJS has the power to deter Ryder but may be able to outbox him over 12 rounds. Good to see this match up being made!!

Big difference between winning Novice titles vs what Saunders achieved as an amateur though huh!

I think the fight will take place. Fwank has let it happen before when he is confident. BJS will be on a good contract, he is not a ticket seller and if he cant beat the likes of Ryder then he is no good to FW. That's the way I see it anyway.

Yes a big difference as I stated in my post in terms of less experience but I have been impressed by Ryder so I think it's an interesting match up.

Oh dont worry, I know you were saying the same thing. I was just pointing out that as good as winning Novice titles is, its not quite the same as being an Olympian, etc.

How the hell does Arron get an EBU shot at middleweight? The EBU are becoming bigger jokers by the day.

Ryder looked very good against O'Kane, BJS has looked oddly poor in his most recent 2...

After watching Spitko give BJS a tough fight early on I've not been totally convinced he has bags of talent but not concussive power time will tell on this fight I guess!!

x 2. Good fight, looking forward to it. Wouldn't like to pick a winner. Anyone that thinks BJS will win easy hasn't seen Ryder box that much. He's solid, awkward and can bang. At some point, I think BJS will have to pass a chin exam. Can't see Ryder getting stopped.

So it looks like this is going back to purse bids according to the Twitter of Buncey and Eddie Hearn

Anybody know why it's gone back out to purse bids?

Go on Bunce's Twitter, bit of a tiff with Eddie Hearn, slagged off Kugan for no reason, pretty funny stuff. I like Bunce but he does seem a little bitter.

As for this fight, someone complained about the way the forms were filled in or something, so back to purse bids.

From following Hearn, he reckons that the bid was accepted with written confirmation. Then a complaint.

Boards 'arse fell out' apparently, don't know exactly why though?

"the form was completed incorrectly"

So a date or something was missed in one of the boxes and now the losing promoter is kicking off for a 2nd bite at the cherry and the BBBoC have ran underneath a rock.

Is that about right?
