:TU:

Tomlinson is a solid fighter all round. I've been to a couple of his fights. I like what I see. Even tonight he showed real class.

Hope things open up for him.

I agree grant. A great, competitive fight. Will deserved his victory but wouldnt hav been surprised if it,went against him...but those scores were just too wide. Well done to will, a great performance against a very good opponent.

With scores of 117-110 118-109 118-109 for Tomlinson I'd imagine Klassen would be pretty pissed off.
I didn't score the fight but got the impression that the African controlled the second half of the fight.
A draw wouldn't have surprised me.
Good competitive fight.

I thought it was a great fight, close and competitive.

I thought that Will had done enough to win. Klassen was moving well but backing up constantily and not landing enough punches (although the ones he did land were landing well).

Will came forward and made the fight, he missed a lot but he also landed a lot. He staggered Klassen twice, and got rocked himself twice.

It's personal opinion but I don't think you can expect to get deciiosn when you are moving away constantly and not throwing enough punches.

IMO, Will won, but was surprised by the wide margin

I had a good night last night. Loved the fight. The scores were way too wide, But no doubt Will did enough - no bias at all.

I'd give it to Will by two rounds.

Two rounds my my calculations Yes I thought it was a great fight by Will. I think Klassen will regret not throwing enough punches in the early stages of each round. But I met Will at his open training session and he is a terrific bloke. In a world of Egos and trash talk he is a breath of fresh air.

i think klasson,s corner may have given him the wrong advice at the end of the 9th, he got on his bike and and gave the impression he had the fight won, i thought Tomlinson won but nowhere near the judges margins, it gives the imports a bad impression , a good fight night, all the best

Yeah that was a close fight - score cards had a sent of bullcrud. But what was worse is the scoring for the Matt Garlett fight - I felt he lost a lot of rounds a draw would have been a gift.

Agree, Garlett was very lucky to get the decision.
He showed some good skills and did well to see out the 12rds. He'll certainly have learned plenty from the fight.
It was probably a step too far at this stage of his career that could easily have come unstuck.
A rematch with O'Connell would have been a more realistic fight.

Any thoughts on announcing progress scores during a fight as was done during the Garlett fight.
[ after round eight I think ]
Personally I don't like it.

I am a fan. I think it gives fans a better idea of when dodgy judging is going on.

I also like the fact that fighters can't say they thought they were way ahead on thecrads blah blah so just cruised through the final rounds blah bla. Tjhis way if you hear you are 4 points down after 8 rounds, you know you need to get throwing.

I thought Garlet won the early rounds, got the KD, and maybe won one of the last 6. I thought a draw was coming.
