Credit to Il Duce for having been the inspiration for me regarding this match-up. What happens?

the very best version of Conteh could win this, anything less than that loses.

Hence why I'd take Victor. More consistent.

Agree, Galindez by something like 144-141 unless Conteh is having a career best day. Conteh had the talent (and jab) to win but I would bet on Galindez unless this were in the UK and Harry Gibbs was the sole judge.

I'll go with Victor Galindez by a 'Close' 15-Round Decision.

Could see John Conteh holding a slight edge thru 11 Rounds, but nobody was tougher than a
"Prime" Victor Galindez in the later Rounds.

7-5-3 In Rounds.
Marvin Johnson ruined him for the later rounds with bodyshots from memory, not sure whether you could say that was 'peak' Galindez or not though.....

I don't think it was.

Galindez looked really old and slow vs Johnson. Marvin was great fun to watch because he was a total action fighter and a KO could happen at any time, sometimes with him on the receiving end. A few years earlier I would have bet on Galindez to win but Johnson took care of business that night.
