Froch slams Groves and Cleverly for sparring with Kessler

Post by ThereByTheGrace »

Adds an interesting dimension to Saturday. Let the mind games begin!!!

I was surprised when Groves began sparring with Kessler. Out of interest, does anyone know who Froch was sparring with in his preparation for the fight?

What extra dimension does this add, exactly?

And why direct mind games at 2 blokes you are not even fighting?

Is he losing focus on the task at hand commenting on his opponents sparring partners?

If it was me I wouldn't be saying anything until after the fight about things like this.

Froch seems to have been sparring novices.

Kessler will stop him.

I think Kessler will stop Froch but not because of the sparring partners. I honestly feel that the Bute result has made Carl think he is a world class destroyer when he isn't really. Kessler is a big strong man and hit Magee with withering punches without loading up. Froch wasn't sympathetic to Magee going over to body punches and I feel this will come back and bite him on his arse. For Carl to win he must box and forget about a stoppage.

When Kessler was training for Calzaghe, if he offered the up & coming Froch the chance to sparr, no chance wo7ld Froch decline. This is pathetic stuff from Carl, hes supposed to be a proffessional.

CArl TOLD Kessler to target Mcgees body, its a bit rich of him to make noise about Groves and Cleverley.

I just think Kessler is going to hit too hard, and I agree that Froch is flattered by the Bute fight.

I want Froich to win , but he loses by KO within 6.

I think Kessler is on the downgrade and I genuinely believe Froch is at his peak, I think Froch now is the best Froch ever. And that Bute stoppage was world class, the way he landed at will. Miranda and Bika aren't soft punchers and they didn't come close.

Boxing is a sport for individuals, both Groves and Cleverly may prefer Kessler to win and I imagine it's good pay and good experience + I imagine both will take something positive from the experience to buoy their confidence.

So George Groves is getting knocked out in sparring?! Doesn't bode we'll for facing the big guns himself.

Those rumours always do the rounds, but he seems to win his fights. Froch supposedly knocked him out a few years ago.

Doesn't everyone get sparked out in training at one point or another?

Exactly mate :TU: Before his Indian summer Herol got done by Eastman in the Gym, rumour has it Clinton got his foot on the ladder with the tight one v Baker at 10 days notice cos Starie got stretched badly prior....but it dint seem to have a long lasting effect on him as he then went on to beat Woods well!! :box:

I doubt he's bothered. He doesn't seem like that type of guy. But, if he's asked about it, he'll give an honest answer. Make sure you pay attention only to the quotes and not what the media have paraphrased it as.

If anyone's getting knocked out it's Froch, Kessler is the bigger puncher with the stronger chin, he's also faster and the better boxer with far better footwork. I think Froch will throw the gameplan out of the window and try and have a war, but his best chance is if Kessler gets cut.

So did Froch really tell Kessler to target Magee's body?

If he did then he's a hypocrite for complaining about this.

I heard him say it on SKY, but here is a link to the article. Near bottom of the article.

If the story is accurate, it sounds like Froch is just being a bitch. It's this type of story that makes it difficult for people to warm to him.
