James DeGale fighting on Friday

Post by earsjohn »

...in Canada against Sebastian Demers, apparently. Just seen a video posted by Henessey.

I'm guessing there's no UK TV? Anyone know anything about his opponent?

Demers is well known isn't he? Usually American debuts are against complete no hopers so fair play this is a bit better than what I expected. In saying that DeGale will be the big favourite as Demers is on a run of defeats.

DeGale fighting and it's got no UK TV at all, what a joke.
The one time it actually is George Grove's fault :bag:

Facing alcoba which many are slagging off I think it may be a good test only lost to Sturm for the title and recently Adonis Stevenson.

Actually he isn't. It's actually one of those joints where they have people at tables having dinner by the ring.

For some reason I'v remembered DeGale's fight against Zuniga in the post fight interview where he went 'Hey Mick! Who did this guy fight in his last fight?' or words to that effect. For some reason I was really hoping the camera would pan onto Mick shrugging his shoulders and saying 'No idea James.'

just seen the undercard for next week - yes Alcoba boasts a good record 22KOs from 30 winds.
People were slagging off the guy Burns fought last week too before he arrived!

DeGale really does look pure class when he lets his hands go, the only thing he's lacking is a big punch. Even the finishing shot here didn't seem to have his full weight behind it, but he seems to have every punch in the book, and only 15 fights.
