Jesus H - this thing about the ref going to stop the fight.
Jesus H - this thing about the ref going to stop the fight.
The hacks on the TV, the BBC article, Hatton on the BBC website, the pundits, commentators, even a few posts on here,
The ref was NOT going to stop the fight, Froch hit Kessler with a low blow and naturally and rightly was going to step in and warn him but changed his mind due to there not being a break in the action.
Simple.

Why does it bother you so much?
Froch was pounding on Kessler, the ref got very close, and for a moment it looked like he went to get between them. Not hard to see how that could reasonably be interpreted as the ref thinking about stopping the fight, even if he wasn't.

Dunno man, it just does/did. It's late, few beers deep, was obvious to me even in the excitement of the moment. I'll be fine in the morning :-)

It was obvious as he was shouting keep them up as he moved toward them.Srebmun wrote:Dunno man, it just does/did. It's late, few beers deep, was obvious to me even in the excitement of the moment. I'll be fine in the morning :-)

The little movement was never anything like stopping the fight HOWEVER the rain of punches that followed would have caused him to step in had it not been the closing seconds of round 12, I'm convinced of that.

It all stems from Jim Watts "commentary".

I thought he was getting 'ready' to jump in to stop it, he obviously didn't study under T.O.C.
