PURSES FOR FROCH & KESSLER?
I hope it was over a £1M each? If not then why the eff was it PPV?
I would rather the fighters made the money and NOT Matchroom/SKY.
Anyone know?

That seems on the low side, unless that's before PPV sales. According to Frank W@rren Clazaghe and Kessler shared £10 million

For a fight that was on PPV and not setanta, I'd hope they'd see near what Clazaghe and Kessler shared.

Bigger gate there, I imagine.

At the time I heard that Kessler made £2.5M for Calzaghe?Newport Daz wrote:Ratchet Exits Nu wrote:bigB wrote:Think it was £2.5 million each

Also the venue for 3 times the size. 17K O2 v 50k M.Stadium.
£2.5M each for Froch and Kessler is very good money.

Re: PURSES FOR FROCH & KESSLER?
I agree £2.5 million is good money, but the way Eddie was talking I expected much more. Maybe my expectations of what boxers get are out of whack, but Haye got a lot more for his fight with Valuev and that was nowhere near as big as this fight.
Re: PURSES FOR FROCH & KESSLER?
Is that £10m what they were promised or what they actually received? Makes it easier to pay fighters a bigger wedge if you welch on payments due to other service providers, The Millennium Stadium, for example.Newport Daz wrote:Ratchet Exits Nu wrote:bigB wrote:Think it was £2.5 million each

Warren's post fight interview with Calzaghe after the Kessler fight is priceless.
Re: PURSES FOR FROCH & KESSLER?
W@rren has always said that he made a loss on the Calzaghe-Kessler show. In which case it was a bit silly to be paying the fighters £10m, wasn't it.
