Not sure if anyone remembers it but I posted a thread on using Viagogo a little while back; we ended up getting our tickets from them for Saturday. £195 (plus £40odd fees PER TICKET) for an £80 seat.

Very mixed bag; we went through the scanner and the tickets wouldn't scan. The principle with their e-tickets is that if there's a duplicate it should only scan the first one. After a quick phone call by the lady on the gate we were sent on our way in. No problem I though...

Getting to our seats; we find two people already sat in them. To cut a long story short, THREE sets of the same tickets had been used to gain entry; with one bloke having been contacted by 'GetMeIn' the night before to tell him the tickets were fraudulent; meaning he bought a £40 ticket for £500 outside the O2 on Saturday!

Thankfully the lady who worked on the customer service desk at the arena sorted us out with some new seats; identical position on the opposite side of the arena, though these were 'restricted view' with a cable drop in front of us, which was hardly the biggest problem in the world.

Amazingly, after an email to Viagogo today, on bank holiday Monday; they've agreed to refund the whole ticket price plus a £50 voucher for good will.

A very mixed bag in using them; I probably would use them again but only if I could guarantee they send me paper tickets rather than shitty e-tickets.

Hope this might help anyone thinking about whether to use them for anything.

Dispatches made a good report on Viagogo and some other firm. What I found totally unfair was that they get a large allocation of top price tickets while claiming they only act as a middleman between fans wanting to offload.

I used them for Klitschko v Pianeta and had no problems except for the inflated price but I'm a firm believer in voting with ones feet. If you don't like it, you don't have to go.

Doesn't necessarily apply to the big arena shows, but for most shows the best thing you can do is contact an undercard fighter on Facebook or Twitter and arrange to buy tickets from them direct.

No matter the size of the show, the lads in four rounds are usually given an allocation of tickets to sell will be happy to sell to you as it helps their chances of getting on further bills.

Take the David Price bill on July 6 for example, if you go on Facebook now you'll find boxers selling them.

Great idea. Might be an idea to check with the Promoter than the person selling is actually the fighter and not someone pretending to be the fighter. Example, make sure the mobile number matches the one the promoter knows.

Never known of anyone pretending to be a four and six round fighter. Fighter's selling tickets on social networks is the norm these days.
