I'll agree the dwarf fight is exploitation. ONLY reason they are putting it on is because it will attract the "Car crash" mentality of people wanting to have a look !! Therefore extra PPV and tickets sold. I think everyone should be allowed to have a crack in the ring if they choose to so long as the pass the appropriate medicals and are considered fully able to compete against an opponent of equal ability.

My majoy concern is the only reason these dwarfs are having ago is because they can line there own pockets also because they ARE getting paid! Ask them to fight for free on a 'normal' corporate card and id suggest they wouldnt be involved.

Also I believe Corporate boxing helps bozing more than it hurts it in that it exposes more people to the sport, my issue is with people who put on corporate only fight nights where they make a killing not having to pay professional fighters. Im a strong believer in that if you want to promote a fight night with corporates you should be made to have at least ONE professional bout of 4x3min rounds miniumum. If you dont have the connections to make it happen then the sanctioning bodie can pass on details of matchmakers etc able to put a fight together. This would help strengthen pro boxing especially in NZ as there would be more fights available to the pros, and provide a better pathway for them. Instead of 2-3 guys in NZ carrying the burden of keeping Pro boxing alive here. And Im not including Parker/Botha promoters in the 2-3!!!

Yea I heard that myself, JOKE!!!!! Like lets get serious this whole card is a Free to view TV card at BEST if THAT!!! Im not sure Fox in Aussie would even pick this card up!

Seriously though, hope they have checked that no dwarfs have fought for a "title" before otherwise its false advertising .......just saying.

In all honesty I'd be happy to part with $40 if this were a charity event like fight for life or similar.
But this is just ridiculous and I hope they don't make a cent off it.
Every fight seems to have a celebrities son / brother / uncle or whatever on it. As Ive said before Ill support anyone who wants to lace up some gloves and have a go, but to debut in a ppv card because if who your family are?

This is my point DarkShark, Anyone who gets in there and has a go has my respect. Even the dwarfs. Problem is when they start pasisng this off as a $40.00 PPV event when its simply nowhere near that level of promotion. Sure Duco put on great events, people will be well fed, well 'watered' it'll have the bells and whistles on the corporate tables. But lets be honest they are scrapping the VERY bottom of the barrel having sons of celebs and brothers of celebs helping to try carry the event as a PPV spectacle. The dwaf fight is thrown in to create the car crash mentality where people just want ot have a look. Ask those 2 blokes to fight fo rfree on any 'normal' corporate show and i BET they'd decline!!

This is a very poor Live PPV event by anyones standards. As previously started, i doubt it would even pass Fox Sport Fight night!! Who usually have well matched and decent fights on, although recently its been a bit off.

Look at Froch/Kessler show we got FREE courtesey of SKY TV yes FREE!!! Yet we are expected to pay to see some local garbage? Im not knocking the fighters at all but PLEASe I believe you need to earn your stripes! Walk before you Run!

The dwarf fight is the main undercard fight, what a joke. When they released the undercard early last week they promised one more high profile fight, silly me was hoping for Berridge/Mackinnon. Instead it's a 20 a day dwarf smoker against a former dwarf bodybuilding champion, I'm not that clued up on the current New Zealand dwarf ratings but this sounds a mis-match of gigantic proportions. I don't even want to think about what it would mean to the world dwarf boxing scene if this one finished early.
