Frampton to jump ship?
Frampton to jump ship?
irish-boxing.com are reporting that Carl has left Hearn to sign with W@rren!
Big news if true - I though Carl was developing nicely and becoming a bit of a star on Sky. Wonder if this will bring the quigg fight closer or make it less likely.

Re: Frampton to jump ship?
Great signing for BN. Hopefully it does bring the Quigg fight closer.
Re: Frampton to jump ship?
Why would it bring the fight closer? Hearn wanted that fight badly, said so repeatedly in his last interview.SNG wrote:Great signing for BN. Hopefully it does bring the Quigg fight closer.
Can't understand the move personally, can't see where it benefits Quiggs career moving forward. Still its a great move for allegedly (if true)!

Mitchell for Frampton, fair swap Frank
Re: Frampton to jump ship?
I don't know why it would bring it closer, I just hope that it does.DMA1987 wrote:Why would it bring the fight closer? Hearn wanted that fight badly, said so repeatedly in his last interview.SNG wrote:Great signing for BN. Hopefully it does bring the Quigg fight closer.

As long as I get to see Quigg v Frampton, I am happy enough!
Re: Frampton to jump ship?
Hearn wants a piece of that fight for sure, anyone think he might have something planned RE: Quigg?

Re: Frampton to jump ship?
Terrible move from Mc Guigan. He has no stable to put on a half decent undercard or TV deal that could do well in the Odyssey arena.

Re: Frampton to jump ship?
Chisora is fighting Malik Scott
Re: Frampton to jump ship?
Sounds from the statement like McGuigan is getting a bit greedy. Hope it turns out as the right move for Frampton and not just McGuigan.
Re: Frampton to jump ship?
BJ Saunders is fighting Gary O'Sullivan. What happened to the (was never going to happen) John Ryder fight? Who officially pulled out of that one?
Re: Frampton to jump ship?
Wow...Frampton jumps from Eddie to Fwankie. It'll be interesting to see and hear Eddie's reaction to Carl Frampton in the future because we're so used to fighters being slated by Fwankie when they jump ship the other way.
I'll watch this with interest because I always got the impression that Frampton was a particular favourite of Matchroom and Sky and he looked to be going places.
Maybe the King isn't dead after all...?!

Re: Frampton to jump ship?
It seems a peculiar move from Frampton. He's had decent coverage for his good wins over Martinez and Molitor and now he's taking on TBA (to be replaced by TBC in the week of the fight no doubt). Two steps forward and one step back, IMO.milpool wrote:Wow...Frampton jumps from Eddie to Fwankie. Re: Frampton to jump ship?
From the release it sounds like Matchroom let them go due to McGuigan wanting to be co-promoter.milpool wrote:Wow...Frampton jumps from Eddie to Fwankie. Re: Frampton to jump ship?
The Quigg fight as far as I'm concerned is now further in the distance.
Hatton and Wazza working on a Co Production ? Can't see it.
If that was to happen surely it would have happened before now with the lack of a TV deal for Ricky.
If the reason is genuinely Hearn's concern over McGuigan's dual role Manager / Co Promotor then you have to applaud him.
Thought boxing was about fighters not the entourage.

Re: Frampton to jump ship?
I disagree. I think FW and Hattons relationship has mellowed somewhat over the last few years and they'd be willing to work together. Particularily with Hatton not having a broadcase partner at the moment.Parson Cross wrote:The Quigg fight as far as I'm concerned is now further in the distance.
