What's interesting about this is that Froch entered ratings in 2006, when Joe was still an active fighter in the SMW division. JC fought unranked Bika in 2006, and then Manfredo Jr in Cardiff when Manfredo Jr was ranked at 10th, and Froch was 7th. Really he could have fought Froch over either of those opponents, but perhaps Manfredo Jr was the choice opponent of the US TV network involved given he was well known to US fans.

What you think Eubank was in his prime at the time? His only wins from 1995 until he retired in 1998 were against Bruno Ruben Godoy, Jose Ignacio Barruetabena, Luis Dionisio Barrera & Camilo Alarcon. Hardly murderers row? During that time he lost to Collins twice, JC & Thompson twice. So yeah, I'd call the unranked 1997 version of Eubank taking the Calzaghe fight on short notice to be one in decline.

i didnt say he was in his prime did i?? did you see prime in my comment?? thought not,i said he didnt look in decline in the two wars he had with carl the cat thompson and they were after calzaghe,if eubank was on the slide that says a lot about carl thompson then doesnt it
