Healey avenged his defeat and beat O'Hagan 39-37. Didnt catch the first fight but Mick Hall beat Dee Mitchell, don't know the method but judging by their records on boxrec i would be 99% sure it would be points.

Seems a poor show to be fair, the main 2 fights had pull outs so there is no stand out fights. I know it would never happen, but with Barnes losing Watson and Nurse losing Singleton as an opponent, it would have been nice it them two fought rather than 2 fights where you are pretty certain of the outcome.

Pull outs are a nightmare. Compared to some undercards these "opponents" are better than most.
Studzinski and McCray both come to fight. These fights are coming thick and fast too!

Got to say, Curtis Woodhouse seems natural in the interviewer role.

Aye he does like, quite funny as well, although that usual lass Sophi anormally brings a bit glamour to these shows

Good fighter. The Fury clan seen to be producing them at the moment.

Yeah, it was a controlled performance and he picked his punches very well. He didn't rush in when Smyle went down, he just went back to boxing and got him again. He's a big lad too at the weight. Impressive stuff.

Was at Bowlers & I cannot fault what I saw. More evenly matched fights than most around at the moment.

Does anyone know of any British champions from Preston, or has there not been any?

MachoMan09 wrote:It's a good venue. Carl Crook was Chorley rather than Preston, of course. It's not all that long since Warren had a show there with another Chorley boy, Mick Jennings, topping the bill against Brad Pryce. I'm not sure how much it'd cost to hire that venue but with three (or was it 4?) of Coldwell's lads boxing out of Johnny Roye's gym in the city, it's got to be worth looking at.
There's Matty Clarkson and Liam Conroy out of the JR Gym, Mick Hall's from Preston as well and if Dean Halsall can win the Central Area title in July then there's the potential for a good show at the Guild Hall. I don't know how many tickets they sell but Conroy seemed to have a couple of hundred there on Saturday and from the crowd noise Matty had sold the most tickets of anyone on the show. The Guild Hall holds 2,000 and I can't think of another venue that size in Preston that could host boxing, but if a show there was done right it could come close to selling out, the interest's there if the show was promoted well. I don't know how much it'd cost to hire but it won't be loads, there has been talk of the council shutting down the Guild Hall and possibly even knocking it down  It's easy to get to, right next to the 2nd biggest bus station in Europe :OhYes: and a 5 minute walk from the train station. Car parkings easy, there's a multi storey on top of the bus station, I think it's 1100 spaces or something like that.

A view inside the Guild Hall

Gotta throw in a shot of the bus station as well :D
