Craig Windsor jr

Post by sgtcecil »

I read in today's daily record that he has been given a ban of 3 years 9 months despite never failing a drug test - is this possible? He claims larry olubamiwo 'stitched him up' by passing on a Facebook conversation between the pair to ukad.

Will he be able to get this overturned?

Scottish super-middleweight Craig Windsor was last week suspended for three years and nine months following an anti-doping rule violation involving the use of illegal steroids. The 29-year-old, who has had 12 pro fights, was banned on information provided by heavyweight Larry Olubamiwo, who is already serving a ban after admitted to over a dozen counts of using banned substances, including human growth hormone.
His whistle-blowing has earned him a 34-month remission of his own four-year ban, and he is now reapplying for his licence. "A large minority, if not a majority, of boxers are doping," he insists.

I certainly don't agree with drug cheats, but I don't with grasses neither, ESP as Larry has been in jail too, if he has informed on folk I really hope the BBBoC stitch him up and refuse his license

Surely shouldnt be allowing cheats back in the game just for grassing people in.
One cheat out, one back in. Seems pointless to me.

Doesn't sound good this, not impressed with Larry O unless it's some sort of revenge if he got grassed himself? Who knows but doesn't sound good on first glance.

Let me set the record straight with this as i am tired of people who dont have the facts calling me a grass. The police were investigating Craig on another matter and came across theses messages between me and him. They have a partnership with UKAD so passed it on to them and UKAD called me and asked me to verify it. So they already had the conversation and I just verified that he sent it to me. So there was no grassing.
Also when I was caught I told u guys many others are at it and most of u said just name them. Now someone is named although not by me initialy u cry grass.

Larry would you have a debate on here about why you did it? I can understand if not but ive always found you very amiable on here and I'm genuinely interested in the mindset of why people do things.

Ill be honest I was totally disgusted and I've voiced here on this forum my opinions but I think people rarely do things which they feel is wrong. What led you into it initially? Was it the athletics?

What impact has your 'co-operation' had on you applying to be licensed again? Are they connected at all?
Is your verification on conversations with Craig Windsor the only time you have co-operated? Or have you co-operated with other individuals too?

To be honest I wasnt too surprised at hearing of Windsor being caught using steroids (or whatever he was using).
During his younger days he walked around like a white Tyson, absolutely popping muscles. Muscles on Muscles as people say.

He was basically a weight lifter at that point i think before getting back into boxing, I assume that he found it hard to avoid the temptation of steroids after already having experienced the gains he got from them in the past.

Let me tell you that this 'no grass' code of honour between dodgy guys is bollocks. Most will drop their contacts in when faced with bans or time. They are only business partners at the end of the day.

If you play with the bad boys expect them to turn if caught, end of the day their only your friend when the moneys there.

To be fair it makes no mention of the police in the UKAD report and if they have partnership with them wouldnt they bring that up before stating hed been banned on yr info Larry?
The UKAD stated he was banned on infomation recieved from you and that you had yr ban suspended for the help you have given them surely someone just giving verification on info they already had would not get four year sentance suspended?
Also is it true you went up to the hearing to give evidence? i find that hard to believe personally.
To be honest who really cares people who piss about with steroids and the like wile involved in sport arnt going to be the most truthful lot are they and if you expose all the other drug cheats great but i dont agree with you getting yr sentance suspended you did the crime you admitted it you got punished there should be no way round that really.

British MMA officials it seems just turn a complete blind eye to it. It's a really tricky topic far more dangerous to the future of the sport then greedy/ stupid promoters or alternative bodies.

Nope there is no governing body. There is a company called safe MMA that test bloods and not a lot else by the looks of things

Jeff i would be able to have that discussion anytime mate, jonp the police are not referred to as its an ongoing investigation thats all i can say and u should know the dodgy stuff Craig is up to as u are good pals with him as I see u guys on facebook talking about me. I do have access to it via other people. And Craig was the only one i was asked about as they had the conversations. Old bones Ian there was no dealings with me and craig, he just mesaged me once he knew of my ban to try and get me to help him with his drug regime which i did tell him i couldnt as i was warned by UKAD. And Craig admitted the charges in front of a panel but is now claiming he got stitched up, joker

Cheers larry,
1) So how did the steroid abuse come about?

2) how do you feel training now you are off them?

3) are you proud of what you achieved given the playing field wasn't level?

4) what exactly did you use?

5) why did you feel you had to use them?

Good luck larry your going to have a steep mountain to climb but life's about bettering yourself so best of luck- I know your certainly not the only one

question 1 has been answered lots of times, just look at my fist interview with gabriel montoya.
2. Training off them is different as i dont recover as fast so i cant do as many intense sessions as i used to and need alot more recovery time. but other than that training is going well.
3. I know of 3 guys i fought who were 100 percent on drugs so i would say it was level playing for the most part
4. That is on the UKAD website
5. Because I knew alot of the competition was using and i felt i had to level the playing field somewhat

So listen larry, your saying to us that the police were somehow on craigs facebook messages and noticed your converstations and passed them to the ukad? and you had nothing to do with this, but the ukad reduce your ban for it?? its pretty obvious your a grass, hence your ban been cut.

doesnt make sense larry, you just admit messages were sent to you and you get your ban cut? what where the nature of these messages?? where you not leading him along at all? did u go to the hearing?

So someone knows every bodies business because they talk to them on facebook? No dont know any dodgy stuff at all.You had lots of people on facebook who didnt know you were on steroids didnt you, shuould they have known yr "dodgy stuff" just because they talked to you on facebook?

Like i said im more intersted in why any drugs cheats arnt just thrown out for life eventauly people would get the message or at the very worst we wouldnt have to worry about the ones who have been caught again.
Its not even up for debate all drugs cheats should be exposed its not grassing let them all get found but ALL drug cheats should be banned for life that is my opinion unless there is doubt wether they knew knowingly they took it.
