Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
BARB have released their figures for the week ending 26th May.
http://www.barb.co.uk/viewing/weekly-to ... 1305060126
SKY Box Office events for the week total just 32,000.
Surely this can't be right however I'm not finding much online to suggest figures where higher.

Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
With ppv they can actually tell how many buy it! But they never ever do . Barb figures are taken from a sample of viewers.chad wrote:BARB have released their figures for the week ending 26th May.

How many do you think it did?
Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures

If i hear anything concrete i will post it up.

Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
That's what I would have expected. From what I remember, Khan Vs Mcloskey did around 50,000 PPV's on primetime or whatever the channel was and that was with a last minute switch from Sky.And that fight wasn't even in the same ballpark as Froch Vs Kessler 2. Sky gave this fight a big build up so was expecting at least around the 500,000 mark.G0mez wrote:It's apparently done very well.

Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
Khan still is a pretty big draw though to be fair. He's been in the public eye for so long now.Newport Daz wrote:That's what I would have expected. Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
if it is say 500k PPVs bought, then that generates £7.5m in cash.
the rumours ive read on forums, twitter, press etc is that both guys got $2m +
surely they will get a percentage of that big cash pot too

Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
Going by previous figures, we'd be safe to assume that the fight did at least 200K PPV sales in the UK.

Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
I would say this is closer than the 500,000 estimates. Remember, Denmark had it PPV too, and at a much more expensive price. It was also shown all over the World. It generated a lot of cash.ScottDetonator wrote:Going by previous figures, we'd be safe to assume that the fight did at least 200K PPV sales in the UK.
Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
Just to be a pedant - SKY do release PPV figures sometimes. But only when it's a huge success..
Read into that what you will.

I think it had about 17K buys, and most of them were us.

Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
Probably should've added that's what I've been told by someone who works for Sky! Certainly not Jim White!Newport Daz wrote:You're not Jim White are you?airdrie diamond wrote:Apparently it's around the 300k mark (thats the word doing the rounds in Sky anyway)DD
Reasonable numbers if so.
Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
Jim White is too busy getting sloshed to give a shit about PPV numbers!Newport Daz wrote:You're not Jim White are you?airdrie diamond wrote:Apparently it's around the 300k mark (thats the word doing the rounds in Sky anyway)DD
Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
300k at £15 a pop would be another £4.5m into the pot for Sky/Matchroom/Froch/Kessler. Nice work if it is 300k.

Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
I heard 275k, which isn't great but isn't bad under the circumstances seeing as it ran against the Champions League final.
Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
Do we think a third one would be as succesful or more succesful ?
or would a ward rematch be successful, i think this fight still stinks due to Wards style but proberly would sell well if it was on at a reasonable time and a better undercard than the last time

Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
Froch bossed Kessler in the last fight. I'm not too sure Kessler has another toe-to-toe war left in him. Froch Vs. Kessler III doesn't excite me as I wouldn't view it as a 50/50 fight. It'd be more like 70/30 in favour of Froch.Alba wrote:Do we think a third one would be as succesful or more succesful ?

I would love to see Froch Vs. Ward on British soil but not again over in America. Ward beat Froch easily first time and I'm sure the same would happen again in Vegas. Bring Ward to the UK out of his comfort zone, and put him in front of 20,000 rabid Froch fans, now that would be interesting. I would like to see Froch close out his career by moving up to Light Heavyweight. There is not much left for him to do at Super Middleweight.

Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
I don't think Sky will be overjoyed with that considering the huge build up they gave it. It's all about Haye-Fury now on PPV...Glyn Leach wrote:I heard 275k, which isn't great but isn't bad under the circumstances seeing as it ran against the Champions League final.
Re: Froch Vs. Kessler II PPV figures
Makes you realise just how big a fight Hatton v Mayweather was. Different economic climate back then I know but it did almost a million buys in the uk. Still even with just shy of 300k sky will still have made a few quid.

I said that on here. Someone actually thought it would be the biggest PPV EVER! Some people really get carried away with the hype...dbf wrote:Makes you realise just how big a fight Hatton v Mayweather was.
