Haye's stamina isn't good. Fury can wear him out like he wore out Cunningham.
Based on what? Thompson 10 years ago?

Because people bang on about Haye beating Mormeck and Maccarinelli like it matters.

Haye has a low workrate and he huffs and puffs when he has to work at a higher pace.

Yeah, what's with all the stamina cracks? He held firm against Valuev, when most people who fought him were totally exhausted by the end. He worn down a tough man in Frag at cruiser. He's got a decent engine. The Thompson loss was an age ago, and he simply punched himself out and if memory serves wasn't even bothering to do roadwork at time. It was a lesson in preparation and pace judgement he learned from.

Landed / Thrown / Pct.

Haye - 98 / 143 / 68.5%

Valuev - 64 / 390 / 16%

Haye - 72 / 290 / 25%

Wladimir - 134 / 509 / 26%

Hardly a demonstration of good stamina.

Blimey, I didn't realise Haye has such a feeble punch output.

In the 7 rounds against Cunningham, Tyson Fury

THREW: 336
LANDED: 106
PCT: 32%

To the best of my knowledge he has the highest punch output of any Top 10 heavyweight, and with a 75% KO ratio he also carries significant power.

These are definite advantages he carries over Haye and will definitely have a big influence if the fight goes into the second half.

Well if you have speed and good movement maybe you don't need a high punch output. Roy Jones at his peak dominated with such an approach. Too many armchair experts on this one!

Tyson Fury is a disgrace to the name "Tyson" - Mike Tyson never blatantly ducked anybody.
Mike never ran toward Mercer, Bowe, Tua either though.

But that's been done so many times.

There was a saying at my old company that you can be 'Data rich but insight poor'. All this quoting of stats is proof of that danger.
You can slice and dice the numbers as much as you like, but the simple reality is that Haye's in a different league as a fighter and that will be proved conclusively should they meet.

Alot of deliberating over a fight that has not been made, and imo will not happen. Tyson don't get in the ring with fighters he is scared of, he talks a good talk, my favourite quote being "no man born from his mother can beat me" lol but when it comes to brass tacks he will duck anyone he thinks will take his '0'. First Price, second Pulev and if Haye wants to get it on he will be third. Tyson always says he is going down a path to a world title but it seems that path is a long one - waiting for Vitali to retire and in the mean time feeding on small fish. For the record, if this fight were to happen, Haye would KO Tyson fury based on 2 things, Hayes KO power & Tyson Fury's weak ass chin. :D

Haye is one of my least favorite boxers, and I'm favorable of Valuev, but I can't see how Valuev won it; a draw would've been generous too.

Valuev was also in the top 3 or 4 and probably better than anyone Fury has beaten, so even IF Valuev is Haye's best win it's not laughable in this context.

I don't believe Hayes has the strongest chin or stamina but he is much improved and has much more ring savvy than when he fought Thompson as a professional novice.
That David Haye would have fallen apart against Fragomeni or Mormeck, when instead he came through crisis.
I think for Fury to win he will need to get on top of the Londoner and rough house him enough to wear him down and hurt him. However by taking this risk he will leave holes in his defense, Fury is a big target, and Haye will get to him first.
Alternatively Fury can stay on the outside using his excellent jab and try and emulate the Vlad, but I can not see Tyson having the discipline to do that all night, and some point his fighting spirit will draw him into a fight. Also even staying on the outside, he is not effective at the jab and grab a la Klit so Haye will still have his opportunities.
Either way I see Haye winning this whatever tactics are used, ultimately his extra power and fast hands will be the equalizer.

Also though if Fury tries to keep it on the outside against Haye, his boxing will have to be near on perfect as any lazy jab he throws out there will be countered with a right hand over the top very quickly as Haye does have great reflexes.

I don't think it's a total cake walk for Haye. Fury after all totally outboxed the scourge of Aussie boxers, Kevin Johnson pretty handily.

So you're telling me that Haye could lose due to lack of stamina. That would suggest that Fury is a fitter man with greater stamina. That is one of the most obsurd notions ever

Based on what? Jabbing a static Johnson and static Chisora. When Haye faced Klits, okay he done nowhere near enough, but Wlad's movement is great and Haye was connstantly moving and fresh at round 12

Totally agree Marc, Fury can win this if he wants too by jabbing Hayes head off and tee off with big one two's, but somewhere along the line Fury will go into "macho bullshit mode" which will leave him susceptible to a big shot off Haye, and if that happens I expect Haye not to let him off the hook. Great fight if it happens.
