silkov wrote: Its only bizzare because you know nothing about boxing and nothing about Bruno mate. In both his Biography that came out recently and in the documentry which was done on him this week it was revealed how Bruno injured his eye against Mccall and shouldn't really have been fighting anyone the night he fought Tyson.
He only got through the medical by a whisker. This was all in the documentry and book. Do you really know so little or are you just pretending?...
He either passed the medical or he didn't. Explain in more detail how he only just passed. It's like saying someone is a little bit pregnant. Is it a points thing? Come on, if you now so much about it, share it with your #1 fan, Silky. Don't go all coy on me.

Here's a trivia question for you while I'm waiting. We'll start with an easy one. Lawless brought out a former world champ from the USA to have a look at Bruno and offer some advice early on in big Frank's career. Who was it?
Why should I answer any of your questions?... read his biography or watch a recording of the documentry that you seem to have missed. I'm sure Brian will sell you a copy. Its well known that many fighters have fooled the doctors when they've had their eyes examined... Joe Frazier, Sugar Ray Seals.... ring any bells do they.
And Bruno met up with lots of ex champs, Floyd Patterson came to England to help him out a bit... but Bruno also met up with Ali and Frazier and Holmes in America. Patterson was the one that came to London...
correct!

silkov wrote:Now answer this... how many fights in a row did Bruno win inside the distance on his way to winning the ABA Title?...
very easy question...
I don't know much about amateur boxing but I think I saw on a program that he'd won them all by stoppage. I don't know how many people he had to beat to make the finals but I'm always happy to learn. Facts, my friend,
are always welcome.

You mean he shouldn't have to answer questions about his opinions?

You mean we have to just accept them as fact?

You mean it's not a discussion forum?

What exactly do you mean lvlark?

One fight I don't have is Thil vs McAvoy. But, then again, neither do you. As was proven conclusively on the Ernie Roderick thread.

There are loads of fights no one has. The difference between me and you, Silky, is I don't get caught out lying on here every other week. :D

I told you it's my turn to ask a trivia question. The questions is the 1st one Klompton put to you about the McAvoy - Thil fight you were caught bullshitting about in the Ernie Roderick thread. Come on, you've had 3 weeks to find a copy. Don't you have any mates who can help you out???? :D

Seriously this is an old insult that you're falling back on, probably in retaliation to the fact that I answered your previous questions correctly but you couldn't answer mine about either Bruno or Walcott.
For the last time, I answered Klomps question, Mcavoy was floored in the 14th round... one of which was caused by a lowblow from which Jock barely got up from. What part of this statement don't you understand???.
It is Klomp who has upped and ran off and rused to answer any of the questions I posed to him about the fight. He also has refused to say the name of his publishers for his book.
You're obviously Klomps buddy, but the guy is a fake and all you do is ask me this while turning a blind eye to Klomps lies.
If Klomp had the film then wouldn't he tell me what happened in the 7th round and prove he had the film eh???..... answer that!.

If you want to keep on insulting each other, why don't you do it through the private messages, i don't want to keep reading who's lying to who, or not lying.

Have you ever heard the phrase "get a life"

Sounds like its pretty good to me. I've got a lot of respect for him being so open about his illness... it takes a lot of guts to reveal these sorts of problems.... and he's doing a lot of good for other people with mental health issues.

lewis couldnt hadle bruno`s ramrod (as harry used to call it) jab, in fact frank was all over him and when lewis landed the haymaker that changed the fight he was backed into a corner looking at the canvas and swinging his arms about. that punch was lucky if ever there was one.
that right glove of frank had a stick of dynamite in it, if he caught you clean it was goodnight.
in the first tyson fight he only partially caught mike but still stiffened tysons legs, tyson had a good chin but if the big guy would have caught him flush it would have been over. big frank had a go at tyson in the days when the likes of tony tucker and bonecrusher smith just tried to survive.
a underestimated fighter if there ever was one in my book.

I agree definately..... Brunos very underrated generally. He was unlucky really to lose to Lewis... he actually gave Lewis a boxing lesson that night.
Frank had serious power in both hands and his jab was tremendous. Also he was good at going for the body, soemthing which many heavies do not do. Franks biggest weakness was probably his own selfdoubts which saw him sometimes tense up on the big nights and wear himself out with nervous energy. I'm pretty suire that with more confidence and experience he could have beaten Witherspoon... in fact every fight he lost (except the Tyson bouts) he was ahead.

Was he ahead in the Witherspoon fight? i've never heard what the scores were at the time of the stoppage.
Witherspoon on his day was a very good heavyweight, i think he knew big Frank was going to wear himself out, so that was his gameplan.
To tell the truth i thought Frank should have gone to america a bit more and gained experience, something he thinks himself nowadays, but it wasn't his choice.

I don't think it was Witherspoons idea to let Frank more or less dominate the first 10 rounds like he did. I think Bruno was about two rounds ahead. I agree that he should have fought a few top ten contenders before the Witherspoon fight. I also think it was a mistake not to let Frank fight for the British title... I think winning and defending the British and Europeon titles would have enhanced his experience and confidence a heck of a lot especially in the 80s.
