Danny rips Audley
Danny rips Audley
"I'm feeling mean and moody about this fight which is exactly the same way as I did in the build up to the fight against Tyson," says heavyweight Danny Williams, who faces Audley Harrison on December 10. "I can honestly say knocking out Audley will be the sweetest moment of my career. Audley's been talking the fight up well but remember that's all he can do - talk. Everytime I go out for a walk or go running people in the street beg me to knock Audley out once and for all and send him back to America. He hasn't backed up any of his boasts when he turned pro like becoming British champion tomorrow - a comment I found disrespectful as at the time I was the champion. Now he's talking about beating me as if I'm not here. He can talk as much as he likes because this fight isn't going the distance - trust me. There's a lot of grudge in this fight because me and Audley have got history so I can't wait for December 10 when I can get in there and smash him up."
I'm really looking forward to this one, can't remember the last time i got this excited over a domestic heavyweight fight.

Agree
Williams could make it rough for Audley but he can get psyched out so easilly he could fall apart at anytime, before or during the fight
I would like to see him come in around the 18-18 1/2 stone mark.
The xtra weight he likes to put on will benefit him none because he needs to keep a pace and get Audley working.
Audley has little stamina, and likes to fight at his own pace, so Danny must hussle him, keep it tight untill the mid rnds then bring them up as Audley begins to blow...easier said than done
A fat Williams swinging wild punches will get tied up and leaned on untill his legs get even heavier..once demoralised a quick combination would end it...and the Tyson result gets remembered even less

danny will win, if he's up for it. Audley won't set a neckbreaking pace that's for sure. Danny will have time to tee off on Harrison like all of A force's previous opponents did. (many to the extent of hurting him, eg a poorly executed jab by light hitting Mark Krence, Mathew Ellis having him stumbling... etc)

Theres a BIG difference between beating a washed up Tyson and beating a prime, hungry, quick, 6'5" monster like Our Audley. The fight will go a similar way to Danny Vs Vitali, Audley will just do the job quicker and in better style 8)
Audley will keep him on the end of his jab to start with and as the fight progresses past the first few rounds he'll start bringing the BIG left over more regularly and soon as he has Danny hurt, he'll unleash the fury and it'll be Game Over
I don't reckon Danny makes it the halfway the mark, because his punch resistance doesn't look to be as good as it was.
I like Danny and I'd be supporting him against anybody other than Audley, but I think this is his last hurrah.
Audley KO5

It's a shame that after the Tyson victory, Danny is back to where he was at the start of last year post Sprott 3. Klitschko in my opinion is the best of the world champions, and Danny got beat badly, but the way things have spiralled since then just amazes me. I can't believe that after Tyson, Danny still suffers psychological frailties. OK, Tyson is not his former self, but still has evil power, and the ability to frighten most men he gets in the ring with. A victory like that should've set Danny up mentally for the rest of his career.
I really hope Danny can put on a performance that confirms his talent as very good heavyweight. Audley is lacking the one thing he needs to progress; heart. Who knows, maybe he's been saving it for this.
Dec 10 will be a great night. Let's hope neither of them pulls out before then.

Re: Danny rips Audley
Are those actually Danny's words? Because there's a whiff of press release about that, especially given Danny's quotes to the press. Not that I doubt Danny, because he's shown plenty of resilience in the past, but this doesn't seem his style. Let's hope Danny is up for it come December though, Audley-Danny is a terrific fight. I lean towards Audley showing his class and keeping Williams on the end of that jab and hitting him with some quick left/right combo's, although Danny can certainly wobble Audley should he land himself.Neri1983 wrote:"I'm feeling mean and moody about this fight which is exactly the same way as I did in the build up to the fight against Tyson," says heavyweight Danny Williams, who faces Audley Harrison on December 10. Most importantly, what is this fight going to do to Chambers' mental state? If Danny wins, the guy will be suicidal..... But if Audley wins.... Well, he's going to be offering Humble Crumble to every guy who ever posted on a forum!!

If Danny wins I'll be getting as much grief of my mates as I will of you lot (and other forums members), because I'm equally vocal off the forums, in fact I'll probably have to leave the country.
I'm going to pre-warn you that when Audley wins I'm going to be insufferable
Whichever way the result goes I'll be on the forums in the following week to take it or dish it
Made a drunken bet with my mate that Danny will knock Audley out, the price of the other guys ticket. Am starting to regret in slightly.
Agree with Ali, if Harrison starts slowly and lets Williams build up some confidence to start throwing those hooks in combination then I don't think Harrison will be able to deal with it, as Chambers said after 19 fights his heart (or chin) hasn't been tested.
Can see a bewildered Audley down on the floor looking at the ref not wanting to get up in round 3 but can also see Danny staggering all over the place with Audley teeing off at will in the mid to late rounds. Can't wait (never thought I say that!)[/code]

Fair point, but I think past performances show that "On-Song Danny" appears about 1 in 4 fights. That's what makes him so infuriating.Boxingmad wrote:An on-song Danny Williams is a ferocious thing. He has speed, power and can be pretty ruthless when he wants to be. An off-song version can be pretty dreadful.
Let's hope the on-song one appears. If so, Audley will get pretty badly done over.
The way he pulled out of the Skelton fight has really tested my support for Danny and to be honest, I'm a neutral for this fight. (2 years ago, i'd have been 100% behind Danny).
Audely on Points or late TKO. Audley shows he know when to take a fight.
Other than a completely over-rated win over a totally washed up Tyson (in which Tyson still very nearly had him out of there before he ran out of puff) 'on-song' Danny Williams has consisted of stunning knockout victories over Julius Francis and Bob Mivrovic.
He's shite and I think Harrison may win this quite easily.

Who has Audely beaten?. He didn't even come close to stopping Francis. Dannys fought in better class and has come back from tough spots to win in the past. If he's on form and sound mentally after the Vitali fight then I can't really see Audely winning this. Harrison has only taken this fight because he thinks Williams is shot after the Klitchenko bout.KO Atrist wrote:Spot on, GozGoz wrote:Other than a completely over-rated win over a totally washed up Tyson (in which Tyson still very nearly had him out of there before he ran out of puff) 'on-song' Danny Williams has consisted of stunning knockout victories over Julius Francis and Bob Mivrovic.

Say what you like about Danny, but when he's in the ring, he's shown himself to have one of the biggest hearts in heavyweight boxing. He went through murder in the Vitali massacre, and just refused to give in - plus the Potter win was one for the books.
IF this turns into a war ( and yes that's a big IF ) then I doubt Audley can match him in that department..

I dont really buy the "who has he beaten" argument. Who had kostya Tszyu beaten when he fought Hernandez in just his 11th pro fight? Didnt Bernard Hopkins have a better CV than Jermain Taylor? Glen Johnson Vs Jones Jr? Morrales Vs Raheem?silkov wrote:Who has Audely beaten?. He didn't even come close to stopping Francis. Harrison is a super heavyweight olympic gold medalist which should be enough to prove his worth in the ring. Williams was dismantled so systematically by vitali that most people on here said he should never fight again, he didnt land a shot on vitali throughout 7 brutal rounds and yet now many people think he can do against harrison what he couldnt against vitali, get past the jab.
As for not knocking JUlius Francis out, who has since he went into "journeyman survival mode".
Exactly, the "who has he beaten" argument is a ridiculous one. You could say the same about any up and comer.
I don't agree with the disrespectful comments made about Danny, he's been an excellent champion and the top British HW for approx the last 5 years and there isn't a bigger heart in boxing, but IMO boxing skills beats boxing heart 9 times out of 10

I just can't believe the confidence on here about Audley Harrison. The guy might be 6"5 and 18st but he has fornicate ALL strength and stamina. He'll be awkward for Danny for a while but that will be it. I bet he barely manages to win a round after the first 4.
This will be nothing like the Klitschko fight, I get sick of seeing this ridiculous comparison. Vitali would wallop Audley inside 2. They are poles apart physically.
