I have a hard time puting Ayala in the mix with fighters that proved themselves against quality opposition. I pick Terry Norris to beat-up Ayala whose BIGGEST win was over Robbie Epps and his future at that point was purely conjecture .

No I suppose not. However even the aged version looked the puncher against Campas.

That fight didn't tell us much, especially since Ayala was stopped.

During his prime, Norris was awesome. Outstanding boxer-puncher.
Yes, he suffered from a shaky chin, but when focused, he was one difficult guy to beat. Chavez didn't want anything to do with him.
Probably went into the Brown fight overconfident (Brown had already pulled out of an earlier fight with apparent stagefright) and fell victim to his own unprotected chin. Fully focused, he shutout Brown in the rematch.
I'm sure he'd give total respect to Ayala's power, and box his way to an easy decision over a guy who was more hype than accomplishment.
A late round KO would not be surprising. Have a hunch that Ayala was the type who might look for a way out if he encountered too much adversity.

I’m leaning toward Norris 70/30.

If they both performed to the best of their abilities Norris would win handily.
