Roach was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 1990, at age 30! His doctors say that it most likely came from his boxing career. He took quite a few beatings and was a shot fighter by the time he was 26.

Looking at his record, he fought quite a few good names; Bobby Chacon, Greg Haugen and Hector Camacho.
Other recognizable names on his record are Darryl Tyson and Louis Burke, the latter whom Roach fought twice.
With a final record of 39-13, he certainly knows boxing and the risks it involves. I think Roach is the top young trainer today.

I am sure I read that Eddie Futch didn't want Roach to have his last few fights.
