anyone know what the deal with this guy is? whats with the name.... how good was he? i see he defended his super flighweight title 38 times so he must of been pretty good no?

He fought some decent competition early in his career, but seemed content later on to fight whoever, he was a big-time draw in Thailand regardless of who he fought. I'm pretty sure that he was in a bad car wreck, which was the reason for him retiring!

His last name "Gym" represented his promoter, or manager, which is the case with many, many Thai fighters. They take the name of the promotional company out of respect to their manager, or promoter, which is why you see a lot of last names of Gym...Khaosai Galaxy and his brother are other examples as they were promoted by Galaxy Promotions, or Galaxy something!

My favourite example of this being Medgoen Three-K Battery Corp.

If that's not cool enough, he was later known as Medgoen Toyota-Thailand.

Crazy guy, crazy names.
