Can't see anything other than a Broner stoppage to be honest.

He's carrying too much weight. He is not at his fighting weight. I think he'll drop back down after the fight.

Broner will stop Paulie. His showboating may well be his Achilles heel as he steps up in class and against punchers, but I don't see Paulie hurting him.

Broner will want the stoppage and at some point, may well be early doors, he will go at Malignaggi all guns blazing. Paulie will probably get back up from any initial knockdown but Broner is a decent finisher and will surely have more than his fair share of 'goodwill'.

I can see Paulie trying to use his skills to make the first few rounds relatively close but when Broner wants, he will walk straight through Paulie. It's going to have a pantomime feel in parts I think, with both fighters showboating.

Broner will end up at 147lbs with his frame, Paulie was fighting at 140lbs until 2 years ago. The deck is stacked.

Broner TKO, if Paulie holds 10, if he decides to trade a little, 7.

I think when untested fighters like broner especially moving up 2 weights meet a veteran there are so many examples of them being taken to school. Pauli is better at welter than he was at light welter, I fully expect broner to win but wouldnt be entirely shockedif it turned into another calzaghe v lacy style fight.

Paulie won't rest his chin on Broner's chest to be knocked-out like Rees did.

He will get behind the jab and will spear / circle a bloated Broner.

This fight will not be as one-sided as you all think and don't be surprised to see Broner behind on the cards, following Paulie around the ring all night.

I'm predicting a competitive about where Broner begins to pick the MagicMan apart in the mid rounds. I see Broner getting the stoppage inside 9. It's not going to be an easy nights work, but Broner is going to land some heavy shots. I see a stoppage where the referee steps in due to Paulie taking to many.

Prediction: Broner by stoppage in the 8th.

I agree; Paulie knows how to box, has bottle and he may dig in and fight out of his skin. Broner is class but I do not think he punches as hard as Miguel Cotto, isn't as strong a body puncher as Hatton and is not as fast as Khan. If he's still 8 to 1 against then I'm to put £10 on him; Broner going 2 divisions up (why didn't he box Matthysse at light welter?) may undo him.

but then are we making too much of Broner going up two weight divisions? in the old days it would have only been one ...plus also what would Broner normally walk about at once he rehydrates from Lightweight ... i bet it wouldent bee much off welter

Wasn't there a hagler2000 post here a minute ago? If it weren't my imagination; why do you think that Paulie would want to be best friends with Broner, even if he gets a beating. He's lost before and took his lumps and didn't kiss arse afterward. I bet that post bout Broner will offer the olive branch and claim all the talk was to build the bout, it was nothing personal etc etc.

This is really quite simple..........

Look at what Hatton did to Paulie ? Hatton was a pretty predictable fighter. He came forward, threw shots and Paulie didn't know how to deal with him. Hatton took Paulie to school that night. Broner has faster hands than Hatton and i think his punching power will remain with him. I think is a guy who can operate at either 140lbs or 147lbs. He was always a big lightweight and i don't see the weight being an issue at all. Paulie has lost most of his big fights. Who has the guy actually beat in his career that you can look at and say "yeah, he beat an elite fighter" ? Nobody. Paulie is 32 and past his best. This is a perfect fight for Broner, as it's a tester to the 147lbs division and he is fighting a past it fighter with no power, who has a name and a world title belt. Broner can and wil look good in this fight and then move on. I say he stops Paulie in the last two or three rounds of the fight.

Paulie lost to hatton because hatton could walk through his feather fists. Paulie has a bit more power now he has moved up to welter enough for them to have a cumulative effect.!

Paulie doesn't have power full stop. He never had power and he doesn't have it at 147lbs either. The reality about Paulie is that he isn't a top level fighter and never has been. Like i say, name me an elite fighter that he has beaten in any division he has been in ? Diaz and Lovemore N'Dou ? So this idea that somehow Paulie is a crafted fighter who's skills can dazzle opponents is a fantasy. He is a tricky fighter and he has some experience, but he doesn't have the skill sets that Broner has, he doesn't have the power that Broner has in his locker. 147lbs will be no problem to Broner. People seem to be saying that the weight differential and unorthadox style will make this an even fight. I personally don't think the weight will be an issue, i don't think he power will be significantly reduced and i think he will wear Paulie down in the later rounds.
