So Joey Dawejko would make an excellent opponent for Fury. THAT BEING SAID.... Peter personally told me himself, if Martin Rogan made the challenge, he would match Hughie up with Rogan. Jesus bless.
Rogan would make more sense for Hughie to fight as he is well known in that part of the world being from Belfast and a former opponent of his cousin Tyson. In a situation like this, Phiily's Dawejko is like a real life Rocky as in the movie nobody knew who Balboa was either and the reason Apollo Creed offered him a chance to fight.
Yo Hughie, give Joey a chance to fight you! :box:

After a quick google Joey looks very out of shape and is a small heavyweight. Fury would get a lot of stick if he had another early ko

I know what youre saying, but where were the mcdermott, sexton, dalls, towers of the domestic division... Got better things to do and fighters to fight.
Their promoters and managers will arrange such things. And this is just a publicity stunt althought I'm sure the offer is real and Fury willing to fight anyone.
Mcdermott has got bigger things to do ,,Sexton I'm sure will be looking at a shot at a title again soon and wont take the risk until its for a title, Dallas has a three fight deal and is fighting Tomas Mrazek in his first fight back if he can stop Mrazek who took Hughie & Sexton the distance that will make a future fight with either of these two interesting I think if Hughie and Tom win all there fights this year it would be a good show down early part of next year for something meaningful, Towers is fighting Lucas Browne so id defiantly a bigger fight than Hughie

Mind you this was an open invitational to ANY heavyweight in the world, no matter their ranking. They could have been a complete shitcan bum, or they coulda been a journeyman, or a contender. Nobody called in except for Joey Dawejko. So far as I am concerned the 7-2-2 (3) heavyweight from Philadelphia has more balls than any heavyweight in the world at least for today.
That's not how it works. If Hughie Fury wants a good opponent his promoter has to go out there and buy one. They won't come running because they were invited. Hughie Fury is a nobody at this stage. It's very early days.

Think Towers is busy for a fight in Macau or somewhere is he not?

Peter says he has to spend money out of his own pocket to get Hughie fights, so it's possible he could pay for Joey Dawejko to come over to the UK or Canada in a fight. Jesus bless.
